Stepping Back into Peace

Robert: 
Today we read in A Course in Miracles Workbook, Lesson 158, that Christ’s vision does not mistake the body for the Son of God. The Son of God is Love and, being one, has no form. To see with Christ’s vision we need to learn to look past all form to the Light of Love. This vision is forgiveness. To see Christ’s vision we must look through forgiving eyes. That means we do not bring the labels and judgments we learned in the past and try to apply them to our perceptions in the present. When we let the present be, without overlaying the past on it, Christ’s vision shows us the Light of Love that is there. Thus, to have this clear vision of the Light of the Son of God, we must free ourselves of the past; in other words, we must forgive it.

Today is another opportunity to practice stepping back and opening my heart and mind to peace. In peace there can be no judgment. In peace I am open to the Holy Spirit’s gentle teaching that shows me the past is gone and is not here. In peace I see the Light of God’s Son, free of the shadows of the past. In peace I experience the Light of God’s Son in all that I see and I recognize It as my Self.

Mary:
As I start my day, the question I ask myself is, “Am I willing to put God first today?” If I am truly willing to put God first, I will accept God’s gifts of peace and Christ’s vision. How my day goes depends on my willingness to accept what has already been given me. Am I willing to step back and receive Holy Spirit’s inspiration in quiet? Or will I replay the old past habit of deciding things on my own? Am I making what I see through the body’s eyes real? Or am I willing to let the Holy Spirit show me the constant Love and peace of God that lie beyond all illusions of separation. Which will I choose today?

Today I am being blessed with another day of practice. My constant focus today is to remember to step back and choose with Holy Spirit. Then today will be filled with peace, joy and gratitude for the opportunity of joining with the Holy Spirit’s one purpose of forgiving the dream of separation and remembering what is forever true.

Quiet Listening

Mary:
I have been doing the audio clean up for Jon Mundy’s seminar on mysticism. In this seminar Jon talks about the Trappist monks who, as part of their way of life, do not speak unless absolutely needed. Jon tells us in the workshop that these monks have found it very valuable to allow an open space in their minds for quietness. They have found the gifts of peace and understanding that quietness brings.

In this workshop Jon shares with us that in our process of awakening, we too will open up to the gifts that quietness brings. The Holy Spirit is there. In A Course in Miracles we are told that with peace comes understanding. We are told that we are either joining with the ego’s world of separation or we are joined with Holy Spirit’s knowing of oneness. Through allowing time of quiet we find the Holy Spirit is there, waiting to be our Guide. The Holy Spirit guides us to a total thought reversal where we feel the knowing of oneness that never changes. This cannot be taught with words. It can only be taught by the Teacher within as we are willing to be quiet and listen.

I am finding that as my willingness to follow Holy Spirit grows, that allowing time for quietness is more and more important. There is such happiness there. There is such peace. There is such understanding. I see that I am truly blessed and that everyone is there with me. I see that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. I see that we are still in Heaven and have never left, no matter what raucous dreams we get involved with in our minds. In quietness we see that we are safe. We are Home. We are innocent and we are loving and loved eternally.

Robert:
Today I would step back and let Love lead the way in every present moment.

Holy Spirit to Dorie:  So many times you have used a multitude of words as a screen for defense. Now you are learning, that in hearing others, you hear the truth of their walk with Me. As you listen to others and to Me, you both receive healing. You both see the path you will both share in your journey to peace.  There is no separation. There is just one Son.

A Willingness Check In

Mary:
Am I willing to remember the truth today? Am I willing to remember the truth of What I am and Where I am eternally? This is my willingness check-in as I begin my day. Am I truly willing to step back and receive God’s peace? Or do I choose instead the ego thought system that makes separate bodies appear to be real? I have to honestly look at my willingness right now because I find that the temptation to join with believing in a world of separation seems very strong.

The Course tells me that I need just a little willingness. That is all the Holy Spirit needs. It is the Holy Spirit Who does the rest. Right now I just focus on relaxing and letting go of all I think I know. This helps me to open my mind to receive God’s gift of peace which helps to wash away all the doubts in my mind. I soften more and relax a little more, letting go just a little more.

I know that beyond this world is a world I want. I know that the real world the Holy Spirt brings brings me peace and happiness. The presence of my inner Comforter grows stronger as my focus continues to stay on accepting Holy Spirit’s help. I look at my barriers to accepting Love’s Presence with Holy Spirit. We rest a while together.

My fears about the future come up and I willingly hand them over to the Holy Spirit. I observe with Holy Spirit as they are gently washed away. I see the futility of holding on to these thoughts. I see that I no longer need them. The feeling of rest and a peace beyond this world grows stronger. I gradually allow the awareness of Love’s Presence to grow stronger.

I am reminded how important it is to let the Holy Spirit do Its job. My job is to have a little willingness. I focus on letting the veil of separation be lifted. I am now aware that in truth, the Light of Christ is all there is to see. The feeling of peace replaces everything that I thought before. I am on the bridge of return to the truth because I am willing to be there. I see that all is safe because nothing has happened to change God’s one Son.

Accepting God’s peace is my one goal. Through accepting peace, the truth of What I am and Where I am always is revealed and everyone that I have perceived in the dream is there with me. Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.

I find that it is very helpful to start the day with a willingness check in.

Robert: 
Today I dedicate once again to letting the Holy Spirit be my Guide in all my thoughts, decisions and actions. It is this practice that will carry me forward on my journey of awakening.

The Center of Peace in You

Holy Spirit to Robert: 
There is a place in you where peace abides. You can deny it and experience the conflict this denial brings, but the peace remains eternally available to you because it is your Self.

Let today be a day of practice of holding your mind and heart open to the peace of your Self. Look upon the world from this place of peace. From this place you see the reality that lies beyond all form. You see the Love that joins you with God and all your brothers, with your Self.

Let peace direct your vision today. It does not matter what you do in the world. It matters how you see the world. See all your doing from the center of peace in you. Thus will you have a happy day.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
You want to wake up from the dream of separation. You want to wake up to the truth. This is accomplished by handing over the reins. This accomplished by letting go of control.

You are learning, step by step, to take every perception of individuality to the truth to be undone. You do this in every now moment that you do not control. You have one goal and that is to allow every meaning you have given to the world to be undone for you. This what forgiveness means and forgiveness is your only function.

Today continue your practice of stepping back and opening your mind to every perception brought forward from the past to be undone. You want to see with Christ’s vision. You want to see past bodies to the one eternal Spirit, the only Light of God that is always there. You do this by letting go of all the meanings you have given to this world, minute by minute, day by day. This is the only function that you have while you still believe you are in the dream.

The Song of Love

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Communication is an expression of the oneness of Love. Love joins with Love and eternally extends Love to Love. This is true communication. This free and eternal flow of Love in oneness is incomprehensible to the ego, which is the thought of being separate from Love. When you believe you are separate from Love, you identify with the ego.

Since the ego is the denial of Love, it is terrified of Love. It wants no part of It, for it knows that the acceptance of “part” of Love is the acceptance of all Love. Love is not partial. Because the ego fears Love, it fears communication. It offers up myriad forms that give the appearance of communication but merely serve to cover its underlying denial of Love.

Do you want true communication? Do you want Love? These questions are the same. Choose today to let your Self guide your vision. Your Self will show you the Love that is everywhere, beyond the form. Seek not to attach meaning to any form, for this will interfere with the vision of your Self.

Open your heart and mind today to the unity of Love. It is everywhere to be seen. In It you will find unspeakable joy as the song of Love is joined in a heavenly choir. It is your heart’s desire. It is the Song the one Self you are sings eternally to its Creator and Its Self. Join in the song of Love today.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today practice letting go and letting God. You will receive constant feedback on how your are doing with your practice by the level of peace and quiet inner joy you feel.

Do not try to do anything on your own. Step back and let go and let God, again and again and again. Let yourself be carried through this day. Be quiet and listen. Decide nothing on your own. Take all thoughts that are not of God and hand them over to be purified. Thoughts of separation or individuality simply are not true. Let the Holy Spirit show you their unreality. Let go of control. Let go and let God. Let yourself be inspired by the truth today.

Who Is My Interpreter?

Holy Spirit to Mary:
You want to wake up from the dream of separation. You want to accept the truth. To do this, you must be willing to lay the story down, for the story is not true. The dream of separation from your Source could never be true. Your eternal Spirit is what is true.

Trying to fix the problems in the dream is never the answer. It will not bring you what you want. As you get involved in fixing one problem, there is always another one that follows it. In the ego’s world, the problems are endless, because conflict is what keeps the ego’s “life” going. The answer that truly works comes as you are willing to lay the ego’s stories down.

As you are willing to open your mind to receive the peace of your true Self, the way is made for you to feel the truth of your reality. As you allow the Holy Spirit’s gift of peace to be received more and more, the ego stories automatically fall away. They become meaningless. The peace and joy you feel contain all meaning and the inner knowing that you are eternally free is present in your mind.

Let yourself receive this gift today. Your true Self is always present in your mind, waiting to return your mind to the truth. As you are willing to get off the merry-go-round of separation, in quietness, you see that the Truth is eternally there. There is no efforting. There is only peace. You have your answer and you are saved.

Robert: 
Yesterday it seemed that some things went wrong: The sewer backed up and my email stopped working in the middle of a large email project. The ego would label these as “wrong” because they weren’t in the “plan.” These events were neither right nor wrong, good nor bad. How I interpreted them depended upon whose hand I was holding.

To the ego it meant it is time to rally the defenses and interpret it as an attack, an interference with the plan. The ego quickly set about trying to figure out how to fix the circumstances quickly and get on with the plan. But because the circumstances were perceived by the ego as an adversary, this approach was not peaceful. It brought with it tension, impatience and frustration.

But when I was willing to step back and allow the Holy Spirit to be my interpreter, the events and circumstances were no longer seen as opponents. I could relax in peace. The events did not change, but my perception of them did. In peace I could let the means for resolving the situations come to mind. Not only did I relax and feel greater peace, but the solutions started falling into place. The sense of conflict dissolved. It was a good demonstration to me that I give everything all the meaning it has for me.

The Peaceful Present

Robert: 
Over and over A Course in Miracles reminds me that peace is my natural state. It is a condition of Love, which is What I was created to be. Peace is eternally present in the now moment. To experience it I only need to stop trying to overlay the past on the present. In other words, I only need to forgive or let go of the past. This is why the central theme of the Course is forgiveness.

All my attempts to hold on to the past prevent me from experiencing the peaceful present that is always here. Today I will continue my practice of paying attention to my level of peace and offering any perception of disturbance to the Holy Spirit with a mind open to receive His vision. This is how I open the way to experience my natural state of peace.

Mary:
Am I willing to receive God’s peace today? I have to be honest and recognize the fact that if I am not receiving God’s peace, it is because I am choosing the ego’s thoughts instead.

Today is a wonderful opportunity to practice accepting God’s peace instead of the ego’s constant flow of turmoil and conflict. Today it is my choice. Today is a day of being willing to put peace first. I will receive the effect of my choice every minute.
