Today We Let Our Minds Quiet

Our focus for today is to practice letting our minds sink into our natural state of deep peace and quiet… We let go of the busyness of the outer world… and open to our inner Teacher… We ask for truth and are willing to receive the healing of all our false beliefs… We let go and let God… We have no agenda… We quietly hand over every thought that rises as a barrier to God’s Love… We are willing to move past time to eternity… We join with the Holy Spirit and rest a while… We surrender our busy minds into Holy Spirit’s gentle hands… And here we receive all that is truly helpful under Holy Spirit’s loving care.

Being Blessed In All Our Doing

Whenever we extend Love, we experience Love’s blessing. The extension of Love does not always show up in the world in an appearance of form. It may be an appreciation as you look upon a family happily playing together. It may be an appreciation of someone sharing their journey through life’s lessons. It may also be picking up something for someone who dropped it.

There are myriad ways in which the extension of Love is reflected in the world. What is common to them all is that they are moments in which the past is disregarded and the present moment is accepted as it is. It is a moment in which the loving Essence that is in all things is appreciated. This appreciation inspires helpfulness, kindness, gratitude and joy.

Today our practice is to join with the loving Essence in our minds, the Holy Spirit, to be in the moment and see the Truth beyond form and thus experience the blessing of loving.

Accepting Spiritual Vision from Holy Spirit

To see the Christ in any one is to confirm It as your Self. What you see in One, you will see in all. The Light shines undimmed in every Mind, just beyond the form. The Light is not of this world, yet spiritual Vision see Its reflection everywhere, in everything. (From the Christ Mind p.80)

In truth we are one Spirit of Love — we are united as one Light in Love. We are able to see this one Light as we accept Holy Spirit’s gift of Vision. As we are willing, we see through Holy Spirit’s eyes, the eyes of Christ. We see past the world of separate forms to the one Light that is truly there eternally.

Today our focus is to accept spiritual Vision from the Holy Spirit. When we truly want to see through the Holy Spirit’s eyes, we will. We let that time be now. This is what brings us happiness and peace.

Walking the Way of Forgiveness

Any unforgiveness is hanging on to guilt. One of the ego’s principal defenses against guilt is to project it on another. One way I have observed doing this is in attempting to correct a brother. I tell myself that I’m just being helpful in trying to teach my brother a better way. But when I step back and ask Holy Spirit for His vision, I often am shown that I was really just attempting to make my brother guilty.

As I let the Holy Spirit guide me to be truly helpful, I often realize that what I thought needed to be corrected in my brother was a reflection of a mistaken thought I needed to correct in my own mind. As I accept the Holy Spirit’s loving correction, I may see that nothing need be said to my brother or I may be guided to say something. But it will not be motivated by guilt but instead be an extension of Love. For this to happen, I must have first accepted forgiveness for myself. Thus I am willing to receive Holy Spirit’s guidance instead of the ego’s attempt to hurl guilt.

Today my practice is to let Holy Spirit guide all my thoughts, to pay attention to what is Love and what is a call for Love in another or myself; to ask of everything, “What is this for?” With Holy Spirit’s help, I will walk the way of forgiveness today.

In Truth, We Rest in God

As we go through our day our practice is to remember that we rest in God eternally. In truth, time is over and we are in God’s eternity now. Our real life is the Life we live in God.

Even though we have things to do in the world, we can remember the peace that is inherently within us eternally. We can remember that we are perfect Love as God created us. We can remember that we are safe in the Mind of God for all eternity. This willingness to remember is our practice for today. We are blessed with all our brothers as this willingness expands into every part of our day. And we give thanks

Mind Purification with Holy Spirit

The function of the Holy Spirit is to guide you through the process of purifying your mind. To purify the mind is to release it from all that is unworthy of the Son of God. Your mind is held a willing prisoner behind thick walls it has built. (From the Christ Mind, p. 71)

Our practice for today is to let the Holy Spirit cleanse our minds of all false ideas. We have built a whole world in our imagination based on the false idea of separation from Love’s Oneness. Today, moment by moment, we join with Holy Spirit to let these false thoughts stemming from the underlying belief in separation be undone. It is only as we are willing to take all our thoughts about what we think is real to the Holy Spirit that we are freed from the bondage of the ego thought system. This is our purpose and practice for today.

We cannot undo the ego thought system on our own. As we are willing to follow our inner Guide, we are gently led to overlook the dream of separation and find the true meaning that lies behind all form. As we look past the world of separation, we find that only Love is everywhere. The Holy Spirit leads us past the clouds of fear to the Light of Love. Our minds are purified of fear, which frees us to accept the Love we all are. All this comes as we accept Holy Spirit’s mind purification today.

Opening to God’s Plan

The Course tells us very specifically to ask:

What would You have me do?
Where would You have me go?
What would You have me say, and to whom?
(A Course in Miracles, W-pI.71.9:3-5)

This practice is important because it trains us to let go of our own plans and open to God’s plan for our salvation and happiness. From the perspective of being a separate individual, identified with the ego, our own plans will always lead us away from salvation and happiness. They follow the ego’s doctrine of seek and do not find.

If we truly want to be happy, to be saved from the world of desperation, hopelessness, fear and guilt, we will consistently practice asking Holy Spirit these important questions. They open the door to true release from the illusionary dream of fear and death. As we open our minds to receive God’s answer, we learn to be truly helpful and we experience the deep fulfillment that comes with fulfilling our purpose.

Today our commitment is to ask these questions frequently, especially when there appears to be a concern or problem in the world. It is a practice that will free us and lead to lasting happiness.
