Teach Only Love for That is What You Are

To teach is to demonstrate. There are only two thought systems, and you demonstrate that you believe one or the other is true all the time. From your demonstration others learn, and so do you. The question is not whether you will teach, for in that there is no choice. …Any situation must be to you a chance to teach others what you are, and what they are to you. (A Course in Miracles, M-in.2:1-4,10)

In every moment we teach either fear or Love. If we believe we are separate, we teach fear because it is frightening to believe we are separate from the Source of all strength. Through the practice of forgiveness, we teach Love because forgiveness is Love’s reflection in the world.

Every time that we remember to choose Holy Spirit’s interpretation of everything, we teach Love. The Holy Spirit knows that only Love is real; that nothing ever happened that is cause for guilt or fear. We let Holy Spirit teach us as we let His interpretation show us the Truth beyond all appearances. As we turn over all judgment to the Holy Spirit, we teach and learn that we are all one in Love. And we demonstrate Love by reflecting Love through forgiveness.

Choosing the Guide to Happiness

Everyone in the world is searching. Which guide we follow in our search determines whether we find hell or Heaven, conflict or peace. When we identify with the ego, we are directed to look for forms in the world — a special partner, status, pleasure, money or a myriad other forms that we think will bring us happiness. Even if we seem to achieve some of these goals and experience a little happiness, it never lasts because the forms we seek are empty illusions with no meaning.

But there is a Guide for our search That will lead us where true and lasting happiness is eternally. This Guide, our true Self, leads us to the truth. It leads us to recognize the Love we are and to remember our Source. True happiness is an attribute of Love. It is already ours. We don’t recognize it because we turn our backs on it when we search for happiness in forms.

As we practice redirecting our attention from the ego to our true Self as our Guide, we are led to let go of valuing empty forms and to welcome the Love that is our Source and our Being. Each time we let go of a mistaken belief, of a judgment or a fear with the help of our true Self, we move a step closer to the joy that is our inheritance from our Source.

Love Sees Only Innocence

God does not forgive because He has never condemned. And there must be condemnation before forgiveness is necessary. Forgiveness is the great need of this world, but that is because it is a world of illusions. Those who forgive are thus releasing themselves from illusions, while those who withhold forgiveness are binding themselves to them. As you condemn only yourself, so do you forgive only yourself.

Yet although God does not forgive, His Love is nevertheless the basis of forgiveness. Fear condemns and love forgives. Forgiveness thus undoes what fear has produced, returning the mind to the awareness of God. For this reason, forgiveness can truly be called salvation. It is the means by which illusions disappear. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.46.1-2)

The ego’s greatest need is to project guilt. To let go of the bondage of the ego, our greatest need is to open to God’s Love, Which sees past the ego’s guilt to the innocence which is eternally there. Love sees past separation to our true Identity as eternal Love. This means that we all are eternal Love right now.

Today we open to the Light of true forgiveness and recognize that only Love is everywhere. We bring all thoughts of fear and guilt to the Voice of Love within to help us see as Love sees. We are grateful that only Love is real

The Gifts of Forgiveness

Open your eyes today and look upon a happy world of safety and of peace. Forgiveness is the means by which it comes to take the place of hell. In quietness it rises up to greet your open eyes, and fill your heart with deep tranquility as ancient truths, forever newly born, arise in your awareness. What you will remember then can never be described. Yet your forgiveness offers it to you.

Today it will be given you to feel the peace forgiveness offers, and the joy the lifting of the veil holds out to you.

Before the light you will receive today the world will fade until it disappears, and you will see another world arise you have no words to picture. Now we walk directly into light, and we receive the gifts that have been held in store for us since time began, kept waiting for today. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.122.8;11:2;12:2)

All our stress, anxiety, fear and guilt are the effect of unforgiveness, of hanging on to the belief that we succeeded in separating from our Source. Forgiveness dismantles the veil that hides God’s gifts given us in our creation. Forgiveness reveals the Love we are that is everywhere to be seen. Forgiveness lets us rejoin the Self we share with all our brothers so that once again we remember that we dwell in perfect peace and quiet joy eternally. The gifts forgiveness gives are beyond words to describe. As we accept these gifts we know that we have no needs for all that we could ever need is already given us.

Today we are given another opportunity to clear away the veil and welcome the vision offered us by our true Self that shows us we are in Heaven now.

Choosing True Vision

In every moment we have the opportunity to see the illusions of the dream or look past them to the Presence of Love, the only Reality. If anything occurs in the dream that seems to disturb our peace, it is because we are focused on appearances instead of looking beyond them to the truth.

By the ego’s design, the body’s vision is nearsighted, incapable of looking beyond form to the reality of Love. Seeing the Love that is everywhere requires a different kind of seeing, an inward vision guided by the Holy Spirit, our true Self. In every moment we choose between the body’s false vision and the true vision of our Self.

Our practice today is to hold our mind open to the true vision that will always show us the innocence of Love that is in everyone, including ourselves. This practice clears the way for a happy day of joining in Love. It is a gift we give to ourselves and all our brothers.

We Accept God’s Strength Today

We accept God’s strength with all our activities today. We practice bringing Holy Spirit’s inspiration with us into all our doing. We remember to be grateful for all the assistance we receive from Holy Spirit with every situation we encounter.

We accept the peace, joy, the awareness of oneness and the fact that we are still as God created us. We are willing to be happy as we listen to Holy Spirit’s inspiration all through the day.

Awakening to Life Eternal

The death of specialness is not your death, but your awaking into life eternal. You but emerge from an illusion of what you are to the acceptance of yourself as God created you. (A Course in Miracles, T-24.II.14:4-5)

God gave all of Himself to every brother, knowing we all are one. God created each of us as the same Love, knowing there are no differences.

Today we practice knowing every brother as God knows them — as Love and nothing else. In truth we are all the same Love that God created us to be. As we learn to accept this, we awaken to life eternal.
