The Fireworks of Freedom and How to Ignite It in Ourselves

July 4th in this country is a day when we celebrate freedom — American freedom from the tyranny of other countries, dictators, and terrorists.

This country was founded on the idea of a new world order. Out of the European enlightenment came such authors as Montesquieu, Rousseau, and Voltaire, who wrote about such blasphemous ideas (as the European monarchs saw it) as democracy and freedom, where men had the right to govern themselves.

The Raging River of Life

Every morning my husband and I sit down and look at what we need to work on. We both use the Course to guide us in letting go what does not work, in forgiving and allowing all things. It is amazing how many issues can come up when you are determined to let go of worldly thoughts and perceptions. We have been doing this for a long time now, and yet there are feelings of judgment and fear that present themselves to be looked at almost daily.

Teach Me How Not to Make of This an Obstacle to Peace

Take this from me and look upon it, judging it for me. Let me not see it as a sign of sin and death, nor use it for destruction. Teach me how not to make of it an obstacle to peace. But let You use it for me, to facilitate its coming. (T-19.IV.C.11:8-10)

Trusting the Starting Point

What is the starting point? My understanding is that what we really are is what we have always been and never changes. It is indestructible, unchangeable and will always be. Because it is so profound, it is difficult to put a label on it, but some that work for me are Basic Goodness, Infinite Awareness, Unlimited Consciousness, Boundless Joy and, of course, just plain old perfect… Simple Love.

Lesson 84 — Love Created Me Like Itself

How the Miracle Heals All Appearances

There is only one Power — God’s all-encompassing Love. Anytime we see or feel anything other than this, we are believing in illusions. God’s Love is eternally changeless, just like our holy Self. Jesus’ message is uncompromising. In order to bring about consistent miracles, we must cultivate a single-minded conviction in only ‘one’ Power — God’s Love. While we still retain our belief in a hierarchy of illusions, we will reject knowing and demonstrating that there is no order of difficulty in miracles.
