Rosa Maria Wynn — a Life Dedicated to ACIM

The principal translator of ACIM into Spanish, Rosa Maria Wynn started her mission in 1983, completing the translation in 1993. Rosa Maria dedicated her life and all her resources to spreading A Course in Miracles to the world.

I met Rosa Maria in 1993. It was the first workshop on ACIM she had presented, in Spanish, in Puerto Rico. At that time I was a student of ACIM in nearly daily classes facilitated by Annie Arbona (today Aishmal).

One day, Aishmal told us about that workshop. I didn’t think much about it, being perfectly satisfied with Aishmal’s class. That night, I dreamed that my mother (who had recently made her transition) told me to wake up and to write down “Aurora Group”; she said in my dream that I was not going to remember these words the next day if I didn’t make a written note. When I ignored that suggestion, I awoke again with the same instruction from her: write down “Aurora Group.” Sleepily, this second time, I did so. The phrase meant nothing to me.
That very morning during the ACIM class Aishmal gave us a flyer that read: “Aurora Group presents Rosa Maria Wynn…” I had no doubts that my beloved mother was guiding me to go to the workshop. It transformed my life.

Rosa Maria became like a second mother to me. I went with her to workshops in Spain, Mexico, Miami and Puerto Rico. We wrote letters to each other, talked by phone, laughed together. I believed our relationship, evolved into a holy one.

On February 8, 2017 my beloved mentor/friend/mother/sister made her transition. In the weeks that preceded her death, cancer had left her body weak and confined her to bed for months. Among the things she told me during this painful time was: “God is real. The beauty of the spiritual realm is indescribable. I was with the Master Jesus; He told me that when I left my body, He is going to receive me. I will be with him forever.”

“And how was your experience with Him? “I asked. “The power that He emanates is so immense; beyond comprehension. We think that we are spiritually advanced but, compared with Jesus we are not even close.” Her words made me smile because several years ago I encountered Jesus and had the same experience: The power He emanates is indescribable.

Rosa continued talking: “We have so much help; there are so many Ascendant Masters guiding us, taking care of us, loving us. I wish everybody were aware of this.”

This past January 29 my husband and I visited her at her home in California. She was HAPPY and in total PEACE, even though she didn’t feel well and had to be taken to the hospital. She didn’t allow anybody to move her until Jack and I arrived. “We can visit you at the hospital,” I told her by phone on our way to her house (we had been delayed by stalled traffic). “No,” she responded, “I need to talk to you and will not go to the hospital until I see you.”

Finally, we got to her house. What Jack and I witnessed is difficult to describe. Although her body was fragile (she probably didn’t weigh 60 pounds), her eyes and face shined with joy and beauty. There was no logic to what was going on. How can one so ill, whose body is wracked by cancer, radiate so much light, love, joy…? Humanly incomprehensible.

“Johannys, are you aware of how light and sublime this room feels?” my husband quietly asked. I sat down on her bed and took her hands. “Do you feel my hands”? I asked Rosa. “No” she told me. “I don’t feel my body.” She paused, took a deep and soft breath and continued talking. “I am ready to go. I fulfilled my mission and the Master Jesus told me that I would be with Him forever. I’m happy mama (as she lovingly called her closest friends). I am leaving with a smile on my lips and in my heart.”

At that moment she asked my husband to come and hug me. She blessed us and our relationship, inviting us to commit ourselves to a holy relationship. With her blessing, Jack and I re-committed ourselves to it.

“We will meet again; you will go where I go, but not yet. You have a mission to fulfill and you cannot leave yet.” She then looked lovingly into my eyes and asked me: “Now bless me and pray for me.” She closed her eyes and, full of gratitude, with all the love I am capable of, I blessed her and prayed for her.

Overwhelmed with love, looking into her eyes with tears in mine, and taking her hands I said goodbye.

Let us pause to thank Rosa María Wynn, translator into Spanish of UCDM, for her contribution to the awakening of humanity. Let us celebrate her return Home!

Snowy Veil

A peaceful smile as
flurries of delicate snow fall
like bits of innocence
released from Heaven.

The veil of illusion
gives way like a silent storm;
countless scraps of the
frozen dreams
of God’s sleeping Son
sinking slowly into stillness,
to rest softly and melt away.

Perhaps the snowflakes
are ashes of the pages
of ego’s storybook,
lovingly released by the
eternal flame of God’s Love.

The glory of the Atonement
blankets the world of dreams
beautifully outside my window…

With a deep, slow breath,
I brace myself for the
storm’s chaos and welcome
the cleansing of my mind,
the remembrance of my Self.

Let it Snow… Let it Snow

My Path

Holy Spirit Is My Guide in My Study of the Text

A few months ago I was inspired to begin a self-study of the Text of A Course in Miracles. In the past I tried reading it but found it dense and difficult to understand.

Since 2007 I’ve gone through the Course Workbook lessons several times, taking me sometimes up to two years to complete all 365 lessons; I’ve read the Teacher’s Manual, and studied parts of the Text randomly, on my own and in group settings.

The past few months now I spend about 20-30 minutes each morning with the Course Text. As I read a portion of it, I take notes in my notebook asking Holy Spirit to guide and reveal what I need to learn.

The experience has been very enriching. Through this study I’ve come to realize how important it is to be aware of my thoughts and beliefs at any given moment.

The Course states in Text, Chapter 2, VI.4:1, “The correction of fear is your responsibility. When you ask for release from fear, you are implying that it is not.”  and also: 4:6 “You are much too tolerant of mind wandering, and are passively condoning your mind’s miscreations.”

Just these two statements are so empowering for me, realizing I am responsible for my mind wandering and for correction of fear.

The Text has also expanded my awareness of looking beyond what my perceptions and physical eyes show me in my relationships.

Another key principal Holy Spirit has revealed is that I am not here to change the script but to change how I respond to it.

A few days ago it began to rain while I was outside riding my bike. Immediately I felt a sense of frustration rising in me and I chose to give this feeling over to the Holy Spirit. Of course, I expected it to stop raining once I did that. I wanted to manipulate the situation to my benefit. Realizing this, I released it all to Holy Spirit and my frustration was gone.

Applying these principles sometimes seems difficult or even not possible for me; and other times I feel I should see immediate results as I work with these concepts… but even this is a mind trick. I remind myself that my old beliefs are deeply rooted and willingness and patience in the practice of these new concepts and principles will bring a new experience, a more joyful and real one. I also remember that I am never alone in my choice of perceiving a better way. Holy Spirit is always within me. I only need to ask and be willing to listen.

Remembering Gentleness

To all life and spiritual coaches, and all healers and helpers, let our words always be gentle and loving with our clients and the people in our lives, especially ourselves.

Through my Pathways of Light Ministerial training, I experienced how gentle, loving and fear-free the Pathways of Light teachings are… mostly based on the principles of A Course in Miracles.

I have been so enamored by the message of love and forgiveness in A Course in Miracles. Its continuous message is that we are guiltless and sinless. Its teachings have taken all the fear out of how my experience can be. Each time I read the material, I sense God’s Love and acceptance of me and of all. I practice these principles in my everyday life, in each of my relationships. Whenever I feel I have failed by reacting from my old nature, I am reminded from within, by my Higher Self, that it’s okay… I am loved and there is no judgment. There is no fear!

I remember when I was still going through my training, my facilitator saying to me that, “A teacher should never say anything that will produce fear in their students.” Oh my God, yes. I love A Course in Miracles because I’m not afraid of anything within its message.

Once something fearful is said, it raises our defenses, creating separation and the false belief of self-protection. There really is nothing to defend. Let us remember this as we relate with our clients and to all of life and ourselves. May our words be empowering, uplifting, honest, always focused on who we really are!

So many times I forget all the lessons learned on my life journey. I let myself be bogged down by old thought patterns, fears and just plain complaining and victimhood.

I forget about wonderful spiritual tools that really work, because I’ve practiced them over and over in the past. Yet I forget.
I forget what I learned from the Bible years ago that God always Is. To be still and know He is God. He/She is above any perceived challenge or problem. He is my Provider, my Strength…. and that needs to be my focus.

I forget I learned in YOU University Life Coaching that life is a school and that in someway, at some level, I create my experiences and there is always a lesson in each one.

I forget that A Course in Miracles teaches me to practice, practice, practice forgiveness, to not see error, but to remember that I am always as God created me; that I am holy, whole, complete, love, peace, not lacking anything; and the same for my brothers and sisters all around me. Again, when I lose this focus, I slip into fear and move away from my oneness with God.

Today, I remember. Today I step into my true identity. I am God’s creation. I am one with Him, with All That Is. How can I fear? How can I lack? I place my Inner Vision on these truths and affirm them over and over….and return to peace.
