What Am I?

I am continuing to contemplate “Who is Maria?’

I get this: that I hate myself, and then I get that I am a ‘set of thoughts which make up ‘me’.

I am asking for Help to let go of the judgment of Maria.

I hate these things about her: She has flat back head. She is slow and withdrawn. She easily gets distracted. She has flabby thighs. She is aging and has wrinkled skin around her mouth. Her hearing is almost not there in her left ear. She reads slowly. She has an aggressive ego, which also shows the other side of passiveness. She gets nervous when she has to do a task — that should tell you something! (– attack) She attacks herself all day long. She does not allow herself to exist — not allowed, not allowed, not allowed!

But, this is not who I am. I can allow the joy to come through. I can forgive. I can embrace and love and accept.

I feel I have given a promise and since I seem to be a loyal person, one who adores God, I seem to think that I need to ‘keep my word.’

As I write this, I feel a lot of anxiety in my right side (good things) and on my left side (negative thoughts). I am ‘riddled’ with this, and I know I can let it go, but I need to go a little deeper, I think.

Yet, there is nothing to do or think about — I already know that none of this is real, and so I want to embrace the ‘bad’ of Maria and allow her to be as she is, with the knowing that this is just a bundle of thoughts which I have put together for a purpose … and now I want to see that purpose as my task to let it go and see it as it really Is. I need Help with this!

Yet, I want to look at the ugliness of what I have falsely made up because of fear and attack. I attack myself because I think I am this body. I think I am stuck in this. I don’t see my God-given ability to change things, to see that I have separated myself from my Love-Creation-Energy and Vibration which allows me to do things I could not even dream of in my ‘Maria-awareness.’

So, when the fear comes up, I can tap it away, and I can see that I don’t need to hang on to my own judgment any longer because I don’t want to punish anyone — not Papa, not Mutti, not myself or anyone else. I realize that I have given my illusions all the power and this is what has attacked me all through my life.

Yet, I am allowed to choose love, to choose joy, to choose excellence and good things, to choose following God or my Loving Mother. I can almost see that I am also holy. And so I allow my Holiness to do whatever God asks me to do.

I am as God created me. And I choose to follow His Laws. I am at Peace.

It’s a Whole New World

I have lived so many lifetimes…
in this life… I’ve lived but once.
Seeking to fill my half-filled glass
with all my childish stunts.

Then, my glass was finally filled
up to the very top!
Then it started overflowing,
and never, never stopped.

Then, there came a shattering,
my overflowing was no more!
No glass to fill… with joy from life
as I had sipped… my fill… before.

And then one day, I chanced to laugh.
(I was grateful to my friend.)
And then another made me laugh,
oh, and what a joy to laugh again!

Oh, what a miracle — to laugh!
And I laughed for quite a while.
Oh how my soul did dance a jig,
in a giggling, jiggling style.

And so my glass returned again
but… it was not quite the same…
It seemed to be much bigger,
(as I became more sane.)

Not only much, much bigger,
but overfilling… all the time!
No matter how I drank my fill,
still more… poured into mine.

I am always… overflowing!
My overflowing will not keep.
I know not what Eternity may offer,
but I’m filled… with what I’ve found.

Complimentary Countryside Retreats in Rural Wisconsin

We recently had a first time visitor for a few days. He is Lt. Col. Ruben Joswiak, a retired officer of the U.S. Air Force. In his 27 years of service, he encountered many combat zones. He felt disillusioned and saddened after witnessing so much death and destruction.

When a loved one suggested he come to “Bumpity Road” here in rural Wisconsin, he drove up to the midwest from Texas.

We had a very peaceful and joyful time together, with lots of sharings, good food, laughter, inspiring stories and… friendship for life. During his stay the gift of peace allowed us each to soar with “new found wings.”

He left us this note: “After being on five combat tours and witnessing man’s inhumanity to man, it’s nice to know that there are people out here who still care.” God Bless. Thank you!

Forgiving Words

Forgiving is a word that many of our egos grab hold of and analyze. First, our ego questions whether forgiveness for the act we judged as “wrong” is even deserved.  If our egoic self does allow it to be “granted”, it then (perhaps subconsciously) interprets it as something we are graciously giving to someone else even though the act they (supposedly) did is not really worthy of our forgiveness.  And, deep within, if we are honest, we know we have not truly forgiven the person for that act we judged as “wrong.”  We know this because when we think of that person, the same act comes into our consciousness and we are not at peace.

What if we took all the ego’s ammunition out of the word “Forgiveness” by redefining it?  I recently took a course from a teacher who said there are 96 words for “Love” in Sanskrit. A Course in Miracles says: “Perfect Love is the Atonement.” (T-2.VI.7:8)  So coming up with 96 words for “Forgiveness” could be thought of as coming up with 96 English words for Love. 

Looking at the word “Forgive”, we see two words: for/give. So, rather than trying to intellectually push through traditional forgiveness in a situation where we just are not ready to see our brother’s innocence, what if we look at what we can learn from the situation. Why were we presented with it? What is there in the situation that we can give that will heal our self, the (alleged) attacker and ultimately, the world? With that in mind, below is the beginning of my list of 96 for/giving words: 

I am for/giving love… I am for/giving compassion… I am for/giving blessing… I am for/giving truth… I am for/giving healing… I am for/giving beauty…

I am for/giving understanding… I am for/giving strength… I am for/giving listening… I am for/giving encouragement I am for/giving energy… I am forgiving non-judgment…

I am for/giving joy… I am for/giving nourishment… I am for/giving freedom… I am for/giving allowing…  I am for/giving faith… I am for/giving trust…

I am for/giving peace… I am for/giving prayer… I am for/giving light… I am for/giving support…  I am for/giving presence…  I am for/giving wholeness…

Perhaps you were in a situation many years ago where an act occurred that you have not been able to forgive, or perhaps something happened just this morning. It really doesn’t matter as time is irrelevant.  Perhaps you are no longer in contact with the person who (you believe) committed the act. Indeed they may not even still be on this earth. This also is irrelevant.

I suggest that you take the words above (plus the ones I hope you have added) and ask your Higher Self to show you the words that you can send to that person now. See the person in your mind’s eye and send them all the for/giving words that apply. Make sure they are words you can offer in peace. You are offering them for the healing of your wound.

You might even say their name such as: “Mary, I am for/giving you freedom, I am for/giving you wholeness, I am for/giving you healing…” In the beginning, your ego may give you some push back, but don’t listen. Continue to do this every day until when you think of that person what automatically comes to your mind are your for/giving words. A Course in Miracles says: “Forgiveness is the great release from time. It is the key to learning that the past is over. Madness speaks no more.There is no other teacher and no other way. For what has been undone no longer is.” (T-26.V.6:1-5)
