Accepting Love’s Presence Now

My practice for today is to stay in the present moment. Love’s Presence is here right now. Am I willing to accept God as God is right now? Am I willing to accept my Self as God create me right now? These are the same question. Everyone is still as God created them — whole, perfect and complete. Accepting this is my practice for today.

Happiness can be found only in the eternal Present. Happiness is my natural state, because God’s Will for me is perfect happiness. When I am happy, I am loving and at peace. I know I am safe. I know I am loved. I know all my needs are met. There is no need to plan for the future. As I practice accepting the gift of Love’s Presence now, I am accepting perfect happiness. I want nothing more because there is nothing more.

Seeing Changeless Love in Everyone

We have a mission here. We did not come to reinforce the madness that we once believed in. Let us not forget the goal that we accepted. It is more than just our happiness alone we came to gain. What we accept as what we are proclaims what everyone must be, along with us. Fail not your brothers, or you fail yourself. Look lovingly on them, that they may know that they are part of you, and you of them. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.139.9)

My practice for today is to recognize the changeless Love that is the truth of every brother I see or even think of. My practice for today is to apply this to every situation. What I seek for I will find, because it is always there when I look for it. This is the practice that brings me happiness and peace. And for this I give thanks.

The media is dominated by images of conflict, competition and attack. This lesson is telling me that I can see it differently. This is my true purpose. My job in the process of awakening is to practice letting the Holy Spirit, my true Self, help me see past these images to the Love that is ever present. Love cannot be harmed. Being one, Love cannot be in conflict or in competition.

As I practice this way of seeing, I teach myself that my own Identity is Love, along with everyone’s Identity. This is how I accept Atonement for myself and all my brothers. It is this I would teach and learn today.

All Our Needs Are Met

We are eternally carried by the Love of God, the Love that is our only need. And since God guarantees His Love eternally, lack is impossible.

The perception of lack or potential loss can only come with the denial of God’s Love, which means the denial of What I am. So if I experience fear of loss or a sense of being deprived of anything, I am simply deceiving myself. I need my beliefs corrected. And the Corrector is always ready to help me change my mind.

My practice today is to be alert for signs of fear or perception of lack, and to bring them to the loving Corrector for His gentle reminder that all my needs are met in the changeless Love of God. With this practice, I will be certain that I am being carried in the safety of God’s Love.

My opportunity today is to practice not taking the world so seriously. It is a made-up world that is not true. All of God’s children remain pure Love as God created them. The wild imaginings based on separation from Love are simply not true. Today I have another opportunity to place my trust in God’s oneness instead of placing my trust in the world of separation. I have another opportunity to see past the stories of the world to the truth that only Love is real.

Accepting What Is

The Thought of God created you. It left you not, nor have you ever been apart from it an instant. It belongs to you. By it you live. It is your Source of life, holding you one with it, and everything is one with you because it left you not. The Thought of God protects you, cares for you, makes soft your resting place and smooth your way, lighting your mind with happiness and love. Eternity and everlasting life shine in your mind, because the Thought of God has left you not, and still abides with you. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.165.2)

My opportunity today is to practice letting go of my denial of the truth. It is my denial of my true Identity that makes this world seem real. I have the Light That will return me to the truth right in my mind. It is waiting there right now to return my mind to the truth. God’s Love and complete protection are in my mind right now. My opportunity today is to accept the fact that God’s universal Love is true and nothing else is true. My opportunity today is to accept what is.

The Thought of God is Love. Love created me as an extension of Itself, remaining with me eternally. If I feel unloving or unloved I am denying the Love that created me and is the truth of What I am. Lack of Love is impossible except in dreams of denial. The good news is that dreams are not real and denial can be let go.

Holy Spirit, help me to recognize the thoughts that deny my Source, that deny Love. Help me to see them truly with Your vision and help me remember the truth of What I am. With Your help I will see the loving Truth that is everywhere and remember the certainty of the Love That I am. Thank You.

Holy Spirit, Take the Wheel

Letting Holy Spirit take the wheel is always the best policy. It puts in charge the Presence That has the vision, not only to see the road in front, but also what has gone by and is yet to come. I need nothing more than that.

My job is to get over myself and any thinking that I have any clue from the past how to make plans for the future. The part of my mind that thinks it has a clue is addicted to making plans to feel secure. Yet these plans are based upon a perception of the past that has no substance and therefore cannot make a plan that can successfully make me truly safe.

My job today is to accept Holy Spirit’s lead and let go of any idea of having a separate will that is in opposition to the Holy Spirit’s, a.k.a. God’s Will. This makes sense when I remember that God’s Will for me is perfect happiness. This is all I really want. So today is another day to practice following the lead that will take me to the perfect happiness that is my inheritance.

Today my practice is enhanced by allowing my mind to be emptied of all I think I know about what is best for me or best for anyone else. Giving time to quiet openness to God’s Will is how I am led with quiet certainty. This is my practice for today.

We Share One Life

Father, our Name is Yours. In It we are united with all living things, and You Who are their one Creator. What we made and call by many different names is but a shadow we have tried to cast across Your Own reality. And we are glad and thankful we were wrong. All our mistakes we give to You, that we may be absolved from all effects our errors seemed to have. And we accept the truth You give, in place of every one of them. Your Name is our salvation and escape from what we made. Your Name unites us in the oneness which is our inheritance and peace. Amen. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.184.15)

Today is a day for remembering that we all share equally in the one Mind of God. In truth there are no differences. My job today is to hand over all my belief in differences to the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit That undoes all illusions.

I cannot do this on my own. I need not keep these mistaken thoughts of separate identities. My freedom lies in not keeping them, but handing them over for a complete thought reversal. This is what brings me happiness. This is what brings me peace. And I give thanks.

It’s interesting to observe that some of my judgments seem to bring comfort. For example, if I hear someone expressing political views I agree with, I will listen. But if someone is expressing political views I disagree with, I’ll tune them out or switch channels.

In my quest to heal my mind, I am more likely to recognize the disturbance I feel by opposing political views and bring that disturbance to the Holy Spirit for help in seeing as Love sees. This is helpful, but it’s not enough.

I am less inclined to bring my judgments about agreeable political views to the Holy Spirit to ask for help in seeing as Love sees. Yet if I am singling out one view over another, I am still choosing separation’s perception of differences over the oneness that Love sees. If I truly want to awaken from the dream of separation, I must hold back no judgment from Love’s gentle correction.

My function is to see everyone as Love’s extension whether or not I agree with their political views. So today is another day to practice bringing all my perceptions to the Holy Spirit for help in seeing as Love sees.

Make Way for Happiness

When I allow myself to rest in God, I accept perfect happiness. God’s Will for me is perfect happiness. When I look for something in the world to make me happy, for circumstances to be to my liking or anyone to behave the way I think they should, I am denying God’s Will for me. I’m choosing fantasy over truth. Sometimes this choice may bring me something I think I want and I may think I am happy because of it. But because it is a fantasy, it can never last.

My true happiness comes from within because the Love of God is in me. It cannot be found outside because there is nothing outside. Today I will be mindful of when I am looking outside of me for satisfaction or happiness. When I recognize this I will bring that thought to the Holy Spirit and ask His help to see the truth beyond the mistaken idea. This is how I will let go of the grievances that come with thinking I have not found happiness in the world. This is how I make way for the perfect happiness that is God’s Will for me.

I make way for happiness when I am willing to open to the Holy Spirit’s blessings in the present moment. The Holy Spirit is always there waiting to bring me out of the illusions of separation to the truth. Each present moment is another opportunity to accept help from the Holy Spirit. This is my practice for today.
