All I Really Want Is God

Mary:
Do I want oneness or do I want separation? If I still want to see differences and individuality, I am refusing to acknowledge God as God is. When the face of Christ is all I want to see, I am accepting my true Self’s vision.

What do I want to see today? It is my opportunity today to be vigilant and recognize the circumstances where I still focus on differences and individuality, which are seen through the eyes of the ego. Once I recognize it, I have the opportunity to forgive or let go of wanting the ego’s perspective. My opportunity is to hand this perception over to the Holy Spirit, Who will show me the truth. Today all I want is God. My willingness to want only the truth brings the truth to me.

Robert:
To say: “All I really want is Love” is the same as saying all I really want is God, all I really want is to be my Self. This world as I experience it is simply the effect of making believe that I am not my Self. Forgiveness is the way of letting go of the game of make-believe.

The easiest way to forgive is to let the Holy Spirit guide every interpretation and direct all my doing to serve His purpose for the dream. His singular purpose is to lead me back to my Source, to return me to all I really want. Today is another day to practice letting Holy Spirit guide me in all things.

What’s Really Important?

Mary:
When I went to Spirit and asked for guidance, this sentence comes to mind: “God is but Love and therefore so am I.” I stayed with this thought and what comes with it is the thought that because I am only Love, my only function is to extend only Love… Love sees only Love and recognizes that anything else is an illusion and doesn’t matter… Love is changeless and eternal… This means that all that is true is changeless and eternal… This helps me let go of giving value to the valueless… This helps me set my priorities straight.

A Course in Miracles tells me to ask of everything, “What is it for?” If it does not last forever, it is really meaningless. As I sit in a place of quiet, I am reminded how important it is to give time to resting in God… resting in the truth of God’s eternal Presence… I trust that as I do this, I will be guided in how to be truly helpful. I hear the words, “There is no place where God is not.” Remembering this is my practice for today.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
Remember that your safety lies in What you are. An illusion is never safe because it can change on a whim. But What You are is eternal and changeless and therefore invulnerable.

While you believe in an image of yourself, your only function is to let it go and accept your Self. You do this by bringing all your perceptions to Me and opening to My vision. I will show you what is true and shine away the meaningless images with the Light of Love. Let Me guide all your seeing today.

Laughing at Fear Thoughts Through Forgiveness

Robert:
One of my favorite Workbook lessons is: “God goes with me wherever I go.” It offers comforting assurance that I cannot be without God. No matter where I go, His Love and strength are with me. It concludes with the wonderful reminder that, “You can indeed afford to laugh at fear thoughts, remembering that God goes with you wherever you go.” (W-pI.41.10)

I don’t think of myself as being fearful. Yet if I am honest, I have to acknowledge that there are many times in a day when I at least mentally make plans for the future, from thinking of things I might say to someone or wishing a situation would have a certain outcome, to making plans on my own for how I think the next Pathways of Light Center should look.

Only if there were some underlying fear that if I didn’t make some plans I wouldn’t be safe would there be a need to spend time planning for the future. In those moments I’m not laughing at fear thoughts. In some way I’m thinking that there may be something that could disturb my peace. All this really means is that in those moments I have forgotten that God is with me and will always be with me. With the strength of God within me there truly is nothing that can affect me.

So today I will remind myself frequently that God goes with me wherever I go and that with Him I am perfectly safe and perfectly loved and I can share that with everyone.

Mary:
Today forgiveness is my highest priority. Forgiveness means opening my mind to receive the miracle of truth from the Holy Spirit, instead of thinking thoughts on my own. In truth there is no division anywhere. Forgiveness allows the Light of the Holy Spirit to return to my mind. Forgiveness allows me to return Home to my Father. Forgiveness helps me remember I never left. Forgiveness removes the blocks to the awareness of Love’s presence in everyone and everywhere. Forgiveness is my only function here.

My job today is to ask frequently, “Whose hand am I holding right now, Holy Spirit’s or ego’s? What mind am I joining with, the false mind which thinks in terms of separation or the real Mind of Love?” Forgiveness returns me Home where I belong along with every brother. Because we are joined as one mind, we don’t go Home alone.

Seeing as Holy Spirit Sees

Robert:
Today is an election day. Elections, politics and political parties are simply ego constructs. Yet the Course tells me that all things are lessons God would have me learn and that God’s lessons are miracles. Miracles occur when we allow ourselves to accept the vision of our true Self and see only innocence.

So I ask myself, “What is the election for?” If I am choosing someone because they agree with my political opinions, I am choosing from the ego’s perspective. But if I let Holy Spirit choose through me, He will always choose what is the most helpful to our shared awakening. As always, my job today is to follow Holy Spirit’s lead in every moment. That means I follow Holy Spirit whether or not to vote. Of myself I do not know. If I am led to vote, my job is again to let Holy Spirit choose through me.

The Holy Spirit’s choices through me teach me to reflect Love in this world in every moment and circumstance. All things are lessons God would have me learn.

Mary:
My job today is to be willing to see as Holy Spirit sees. My job today is to accept Holy Spirit’s gift of peace and awareness of oneness. My opportunity today is to recognize with every circumstance that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. God’s Son has never left the Mind of God.

My opportunity today is to rise above and see the Love with every circumstance that I encounter in the dream. This is how I am gently brought by the Holy Spirit to awaken from the dream. Today I am to practice my willingness to remember that only Love is real in every situation.

A Happy Day of Joining with Holy Spirit

Robert:
If I want to be happy, if I want to be at peace, there is only one thing to do: Let go of judgment. Judgment is based on the belief that separation is real. Each judgment reinforces and tightens the chains of separation. Without judgment the world would cease to seem to exist. The veil would be lifted and the oneness of Love would be experienced.

The practice of opening my mind to follow Holy Spirit’s lead in each moment shifts the “burden” of judgment from the limited ego mind to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit knows what is real and what is not and so His only judgment is to acknowledge what is real. It is this judgment I would share, for it is the means of complete release from all illusion.

Today is another happy day of practicing stepping back and following Holy Spirit’s lead.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Remember you are safe in the Mind of God today. Remember innocence — in your brother and yourself. Let yourself laugh with Holy Spirit and feel the joy and sense of well being the Holy Spirit brings. Let today be a happy day as you join with Holy Spirit.

Remembering Limitless Love

Robert:
I want to remember that I am loved with limitless Love. I want to recognize that limitless Love everywhere and in everyone. I want to live in the joy of extending Love without limit.

There is only one thing that stands between what I seem to experience now and the limitless experience of Love: Holding grievances (judgments) of any kind. And so I ask the Holy Spirit’s help to recognize that all grievances are baseless in reality and therefore have no foundation nor truth. I want to see with Christ’s forgiving vision because I want to remember God’s joyous gift of perfect Love.

Mary:
Right now my prayer is to accept Holy Spirit’s peace… As I truly ask for peace, I do receive it… The healing Light of peace lifts the fearful cloud of ego thoughts and helps me remember that I am still as God created me… I remember that this is true for every brother, for we are one and not separate…

Everyone is immersed in the truth of God’s Love and is still safe as God created him… Through the eyes of peace I see that nothing has happened to change God’s one Son… Truth is true and nothing else is true… God is but Love and therefore so is His one united Son.

Love is. God is. Accepting God’s peace brings with it the awareness that only Love is real. This awareness is the powerful and healing gift that accepting Holy Spirit’s peace brings.

Using the Dream for the Purpose of Awakening

Robert:
As I write this, it seems that I am in a world of form. I seem to be in a body, looking out upon a world of earth and sky, bodies and buildings. I understand that this is a dream, yet the challenge seems to be to step back from the dream and let the Holy Spirit take the lead. In today’s reading of A Course in Miracles, this prayer stood out to me, “Let me, then, use this dream to help Your plan that we awaken from all dreams we made.” (W-pII.294.2:3)

This helps clarify my focus as I go through the day. All my doing is dedicated to helping God’s plan for our awakening. This is all that really matters. It does not mean that I need to deny the fact that I appear to be in a body in a world of form. But it gives a holy purpose to every form and every activity because I use it for the one function that leads out of the dream. That’s all I really want. I want to forgive the world. I want to forgive myself. I want to forgive God and accept His joyful gift of changeless Love. This is my prayer today: Let me use this dream to help God’s plan of awakening.

Mary:
The Light of God is shining in me now. It is my opportunity today to accept that Light and extend it to all. Light recognizes only Light. My opportunity today is to see the Light in everyone I encounter or even think of. My practice is to let the truth return to my mind today. With the truth comes peace and simple, uncomplicated Love. I choose to receive the truth of Love’s oneness today.
