Remembering the Truth in Me and My Brother

Robert:
I would remember that the truth in me, my true Identity, is God’s beloved Son… With that memory comes the feeling of perfect safety and the recognition that all my needs are met… I rest in God; there is nowhere else… His Love is mine; there is nothing else… I would remember this today.

Mary:
Today is a day of stepping back and listening. Today is a day of watching my thoughts. Does this thought come from the Holy Spirit? If the thought does not reflect oneness, then today is a day for handing all thoughts that do not reflect oneness to my true Self for correction.

Today is a day of practice, seeing the Light of God in every brother, Which is all that is true about him/her. This practicing is what today is for. And I give thanks.

Remembering My Home in Love

Robert:
This is my prayer today: Help me to use all my perceptions and all my seeming abilities as You would have them used. I accept Your singular purpose as my own — I want to see the Love of God and nothing else. I want to remember Who I am. I want to be Love’s reflection in this world.

Mary:
Let my mind be still and remember simple, uncomplicated Love today. This world is not my home. Let me remember my Home in God’s Love today.

Deciding for Heaven

Mary:
In our reading of A Course in Miracles this morning, we were led to read lesson 138, “Heaven is the decision I must make.” The following paragraph really helped me:

Heaven is chosen consciously. The choice cannot be made before alternatives are accurately seen and understood. All that is veiled in shadows must be raised to understanding, to be judged again, this time with Heaven’s help. And all mistakes in judgment that the mind had made before are open to correction, as the truth dismisses them as causeless. Now are they without effects. They cannot be concealed because their nothingness is recognized. (W-pI.138.9)

Today it is my opportunity to look on all things today with Heaven’s help. I choose to look on all my mistakes in judgment and open them to correction. I choose to see the difference between my mistaken thoughts and the real Thoughts the Holy Spirit brings. Heaven is right there in my mind, waiting for me to open the door and give It welcome. The Light has come as I am willing. The correction of my mistaken perceptions is all that time is for. And I give thanks because of the healing and peace it brings.

Robert:
Today I had the thought that the house we are in is a temporary home because it is rented. Immediately the next thought that came in was that this world is a temporary home. I pay the “rent” with belief in separation, guilt and fear. But I already have a Home that is rent free, eternal and filled with Love. I need only accept that I am one with It to know that I am Home eternally. It cannot be temporary because this Home has no time. Today I ask the Holy Spirit to help me recognize when I am paying rent with thoughts of separation and guilt and to see these thoughts as He sees them. With His vision it is easy to make the decision for Heaven, my rent-free, eternal Home.

I Would Remember Only Love Is Real

Mary:
This is my prayer today:

Holy Spirit, I offer you this perception of differences. I would remember that only Love is real. I would remember my true Identity today. I would see the face of Christ in every brother to remember my one Self.

Robert:
I have observed that I have an unconscious range of how much unhappiness and how much happiness I will tolerate. I can go for awhile with a low level sense of dissatisfaction. This dissatisfaction often is not consciously acknowledged, but manifests as quick frustration when something doesn’t happen the way I want it to or a defensive reaction to what someone says or does.

On the other side of this, I have observed that sometimes when I am experiencing a period of happiness and peace, thoughts will come into my mind that something might go wrong. It’s as though I need to do something to reduce the happiness a little to keep it within the range I can accept. Spelled out like this, this is clearly insane.

But this is the way the ego wants it. If I get too unhappy I will start looking for a better way and if I get too happy, I will stop judging, forgive the world and accept the Love that I am. The ego does not want either of these to happen, for it would lose control. As long as I am willing to put up with a level of ongoing judgment of self and others, I am continuing to subscribe to the ego’s belief in separation.

But this is not what I really want. I want to remember Who I am. I want to remember the Love of my Source and my Creator. I want to remember the Love of my brother, who is one with me. I want to remember the Love that I am.

My prayer today is: Help me recognize the thoughts that separate me from Love. Help me to see the Love that is my Home and accept It in myself. Help me remember I am God’s beloved Son, along with all my brothers.

Rest in Joy, Rest in God

Robert:
A Course in Miracles, Lesson 103 says, “God, being Love, is also happiness.” So accepting my place in God is accepting happiness. Choosing to see a world of separation and conflict is choosing to be “right” in my belief that separation is real instead of accepting God’s gift of happiness.

Only the insane would choose conflict, isolation and devastation in place of happiness. Yet that is what we do when we insist that the world of form is real. Through massive self-deception, we have convinced ourselves that this world offers us something that will make us happy. And so we spend our “life” seeking but not finding lasting happiness. The Course is helping us to recognize that happiness cannot be found in this world so that we will stop seeking where we cannot find what we truly want. What we truly want is to remember our Self, Which is the joyous Love of God.

I have flashes of hints of that joyous Love that is beyond this world. They make my heart sing and I see that Love all around me in those moments. Appearances diminish in their importance and my attention goes to the radiant Love beyond the forms.

These “tastes” of Heaven motivate me to come back for more. The way I come back is through the moment by moment practice of letting the Holy Spirit in my mind interpret everything I see on my behalf. When I am willing and open, His joyous vision returns. Today is another happy day of practice.

Holy Spirit to Mary:
Today as you go through your day, no matter what you see with your body’s eyes, let yourself remember that you rest in God… Resting in God means that you rest in peace, happiness and joy… It means that you have and are all that God has to give… Resting in God means that you share all Love as God shares all Love…

To reinforce this remembering, practice giving all the Love that you have to all today… Practice remembering that everyone has all of God today… This reinforces the fact that you rest in God for eternity.

This is my practice today.

Seeing Truly

Mary:
This morning we were guided to read A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 139, “I will accept Atonement for myself.” This part stood out to me:

We have a mission here. We did not come to reinforce the madness that we once believed in. Let us not forget the goal that we accepted. It is more than just our happiness alone we came to gain. What we accept as what we are proclaims what everyone must be, along with us. Fail not your brothers, or you will fail yourself. Look lovingly on them, that they may know that they are part of you, and you of them. (W-pI.139.9)

Accepting Atonement for myself requires that I give up believing that in the false idea of separation. The body’s eyes show me separation. My practice today is to join with the Holy Spirit to see past separation to the truth of oneness. The Holy Spirit shows me the same beautiful Light of Love that is the truth of everyone. This is what brings me happiness. This is my mission here.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
There is only one way to see your brother truly: See him as Love and nothing else, at one with you in that Love. To see Him as anything else is to see a false image that blinds you to the truth. You and your brother are one Self. There can be no separation, for Love is One. If you observe any sense of conflict with your brother, you are not seeing him truly. It is this perception that you need to bring to Me in your mind to ask My help to see the truth.

Walk with Me today. Let Me guide all your seeing. As you are open to My loving teaching, you will learn to see your brother and yourself truly and you will find a peace so deep it cannot be disturbed. You will walk with your brother in perfect happiness. Walk with Me today and find peace.

Let Illusions Be Carried to the Truth

Mary:
In our reading in the Manual for Teachers of A Course in Miracles this morning, this is what stood out to me:

Now it becomes your task to let illusion be carried to the truth. Be steadfast but in this; be not deceived by the ‘reality’ of any changing form. Truth neither moves nor waivers, no sinks down to death and dissolution. And what is the end of death? Nothing but this; the realization that the Son of God is guiltless now and forever. Nothing but this. But do not let yourself forget it is not less than this. (M-27.7:4-9)

This reminds me that I have one important task every single day — to let illusion be carried to the truth. To do this I must be willing to join with the Holy Spirit through the day. If I believe what my body’s eyes show me, I will be lost in dreams of separation and death. It is the Holy Spirit in my mind that brings everything I see in the world (illusion) to the truth. I find that this takes constant vigilance. This is my job today: To let my mind be corrected, letting illusions be carried to the truth.

Holy Spirit to Robert:
You are always carried by the Love of God. This will never change, for God does not change. If you seem to be alone, it is only because you believe that you have separated from this Love that has been yours since before time seemed to be.

Rest in God’s Love…. It is eternally there for you because It is what you are. Let the strength of God’s Love support you…. Feel It in you…. Accept It as you, for Love is what you are; nothing else, for only Love is real…. Let your mind be still and gently sink into the strength of God’s Love…. As you allow yourself to accept It, you feel safe, at peace and happy…. This is where you are now…. Nothing from the past can touch this. Being eternal, what is now extends forever…. Let this certainty carry you today.
