Accepting Our Holiness

Your holiness is the answer to every question that was ever asked, is being asked now, or will be asked in the future. Your holiness means the end of guilt, and therefore the end of hell. Your holiness is the salvation of the world, and your own. How could you to whom your holiness belongs be excluded from it? God does not know unholiness. Can it be He does not know His Son? We are holy because we are innocent. We were created by the extension of God’s Love and innocence is an attribute of God’s Love.

The world is the projection of the idea of separating from Love. This denial of Love automatically brings with it the denial of innocence, which is guilt. When we judge anyone, we are denying their innocence. At the same time we are denying our own innocence.

To get out of the endless cycle of projection and guilt we need to accept the truth that we remain as Love created us. We share Love’s holiness. Because only Love is real, only our holiness is true.

As we let the Holy Spirit show us the holiness in our brother, we learn of the holiness in us. This is why forgiveness is the key to freedom from guilt and fear. We can help ourselves forgive whenever our peace is disturbed by reminding ourselves that we were created holy by Holiness Itself. The disturbing appearance cannot be real and so we are willing to accept the Holy Spirit’s help to let go of the false image. As we do this, our holiness brings salvation to the world.

Opening Our Mind to God’s Love

Grace is acceptance of the Love of God within a world of seeming hate and fear. By grace alone the hate and fear are gone, for grace presents a state so opposite to everything the world contains, that those whose minds are lighted by the gift of grace can not believe the world of fear is real.

Grace is not learned. The final step must go beyond all learning. Grace is not the goal this course aspires to attain. Yet we prepare for grace in that an open mind can hear the Call to waken. It is not shut tight against God’s Voice. It has become aware that there are things it does not know, and thus is ready to accept a state completely different from experience with which it is familiarly at home. The Course tells us that God/Love does not condemn. Whenever we judge anything we are closing our mind against Love’s presence. Love cannot enter a closed mind.

Each time we forgive, let go of judgment, we open our minds to accept God’s Love. The seemingly smallest forgiving thought opens the door a little wider to let in the Light of God’s Love. The moment by moment practice of letting Holy Spirit reinterpret our perceptions to show us the Love that is eternally present beyond the judgmental thought leads us to the ultimate goal of complete forgiveness.

In full forgiveness, the real world is recognized where fear and hate cannot abide. Only Love is there. All else is recognized as illusion and passed by. Here we are released. Here we welcome all our brothers to share in this release. Here our hearts overflow with joy as we remember we are Love and nothing else.

Quicken Our Footsteps, Father

Steady our feet, our Father. Let our doubts be quiet and our holy minds be still, and speak to us. We have no words to give to You. We would but listen to Your Word, and make it ours. Lead our practicing as does a father lead a little child along a way he does not understand. Yet does he follow, sure that he is safe because his father leads the way for him.

So do we bring our practicing to You. And if we stumble, You will raise us up. If we forget the way, we count upon Your sure remembering. We wander off, but You will not forget to call us back. Quicken our footsteps now, that we may walk more certainly and quickly unto You. And we accept the Word You offer us to unify our practicing, as we review the thoughts that You have given us. In truth we are eternal Love, as is everyone. We choose now to return to this truth. We know the journey Home is accelerated as we step back and listen for Holy Spirit’s gentle guidance. Today we accelerate our willingness to let Holy Spirit lead us all through the day. The Holy Spirit leads us to receive and extend God’s Love, and we willingly follow.

Accepting the Totality of Love

As long as fear rules your mind and drives your behavior, Love will not be welcome.

You do not realize that Love is total, without exceptions of any kind. You think you can continue your allegiance to fear as motivator, and still have Love. This is impossible. While it is true that Love penetrates even the dream and makes Its presence known, it is but a glimmer of what Love truly is. To know Love as It is, as Itself, you must refuse to countenance fear in all its forms, and choose Love as your only motivation. To choose Love only will lead you inexorably to the practice of forgiveness.

Forgiveness, not as the world understands it, but as it is in truth, is the highest form of Love attainable on earth. Forgiveness is given to all regardless of appearances; like Love, of which it is a part, its meaning lies in its all inclusiveness. Do not question the value of forgiveness; it will lead you back to God and perfect freedom. Without forgiveness, you are like a blind man trying to judge what he cannot see or understand, groping his way along through the darkness in which he lives. Forgiveness illuminates the darkness of human life, shining it away while restoring your mind to Love. (From the Christ Mind Book II, p. 224-225)

Today we practice letting forgiveness return us to the truth that only Love is real.

Finding Peace

God’s Teacher speaks to any two who join together for learning purposes. The relationship is holy because of that purpose, and God has promised to send His Spirit into any holy relationship. In the teaching-learning situation, each one learns that giving and receiving are the same. The demarcations they have drawn between their roles, their minds, their bodies, their needs, their interests, and all the differences they thought separated them from one another, fade and grow dim and disappear. Those who would learn the same course share one interest and one goal. And thus he who was the learner becomes a teacher of God himself, for he has made the one decision that gave his teacher to him. He has seen in another person the same interests as his own. (A Course in Miracles, M-2.5:3-9)

Everyone in this world is seeking peace, because the world is the denial of the Source of peace. The ego will always direct us to seek peace in the outside world, where it cannot be found. The addict seeks for peace in the substance of choice; the terrorist seeks for peace by “killing” those he believes are the cause of his lack of peace; those who feel inadequate seek for peace in accolades. These are but some of the myriad forms of the same search.

Yet peace cannot be found outside for peace is already within, hidden by a mistaken belief that we are separate. All the different forms of looking for external sources of peace are simply calls for Love. Peace is an attribute of Love; they are always found together.

The answer to our searching was given us the moment we accepted the false idea of separation. As we are willing to accept direction from the Holy Spirit instead of the ego, we will be helped to let go of the barriers that have hidden the Presence of peace from our awareness. This is what forgiveness does.

Today we would let Holy Spirit guide our thoughts and actions so that we may see our brother one with us, sharing one interest, which is to give Love as Love has been given us. This is how we find the peace we seek.

Accepting and Extending the Power of Love

God indeed can be reached directly, for there is no distance between Him and His Son. His awareness is in everyone’s memory, and His Word is written on everyone’s heart. Yet this awareness and this memory can arise across the threshold of recognition only where all barriers to truth have been removed. In how many is this the case? Here, then, is the role of God’s teachers. They, too, have not attained the necessary understanding as yet, but they have joined with others. This is what sets them apart from the world. And it is this that enables others to leave the world with them. Alone they are nothing. But in their joining is the Power of God. (A Course in Miracles, M-26.1)

We have the opportunity today to accept and extend the Power of Love. The Course tells us, “God is but Love and therefore so am I.” Because God created us in His image, everyone is an extension of God’s Love, Which is our Source.

As we accept the Power of Love within us, we help ourselves and help the world. We turn to the awareness that we have the Power of Love and as does everyone. The old paradigm of believing we are something we are not is old and tired and ready to be forgiven.

We know now that Love is the answer to every problem, every sense of lack or loss. The truth is we all have all of God’s Love because Love is united in oneness.

Today we follow Love’s guidance. We let Love enlighten our mind and freely extend the Love we have and are to everyone we meet or even think of. The choice is ours. We choose to accept and extend the Power of Love by joining with the Power of Love in our brothers. Oh happy day!

Remembering Our Self

This day, my Father, would I spend with You, as You have chosen all my days should be. And what I will experience is not of time at all. The joy that comes to me is not of days nor hours, for it comes from Heaven to Your Son. This day will be Your sweet reminder to remember You, Your gracious calling to Your holy Son, the sign Your grace has come to me, and that it is Your Will I be set free today. A Course in Miracles is offering us a reality check. The world we experience with the body is a made up image that denies the reality of our Source and What we are in truth. We believe in what we made and so we believe that what could never be true is real.

Lost in our false belief, we need to be taught once again what reality is. As we learn to accept the reality of the gift given us by God, we experience unspeakable joy and peace that cannot be disturbed. We remember God. We remember our Self, Which has never left our Source. Our mind is at ease, free of conflict and fear. This is our natural state.
