Accepting the Time of Christ

Let no despair darken the joy of Christmas, for the time of Christ is meaningless apart from joy. Let us join in celebrating peace by demanding no sacrifice of anyone, for so you offer me the love I offer you. What can be more joyous than to perceive we are deprived of nothing? Such is the message of the time of Christ, which I give you that you may give it and return it to the Father, Who gave it to me. For in the time of Christ communication is restored, and He joins us in the celebration of His Son’s creation. (A Course in Miracles, T-15.XI.8)

To see others as bodies is to demand sacrifice by seeing them as limited and separate from the whole of Love. At the same time we are demanding the same sacrifice of ourselves because we could not see another as a body without seeing ourselves as limited to a body. The Love that is the truth in us is eternally complete and therefore needs nothing. Sacrifice and loss are inconceivable to Love. If we perceive death, which could only be of a body, we are demanding sacrifice because we are denying Love, which is Life.

In celebration of Christmas, the time of Christ, our practice today is to ask Holy Spirit to help us see past all images of bodies to the Love that is the truth in everyone. This is how we will see the face of Christ, the Light of Love that shines within the Heaven that joins us all in one. In this joyous unity we rest in perfect peace which cannot be disturbed. We accept ourselves as Love created us. And a merry Christmas it is indeed.

In Peace, We Remember We Are Spirit

We state again the truth about your Self, the holy Son of God Who rests in you; whose mind has been restored to sanity. You are the spirit lovingly endowed with all your Father’s Love and peace and joy. You are the spirit which completes Himself, and shares His function as Creator. He is with you always, as you are with Him.

Spirit am I, a holy Son of God,
free of all limits, safe and healed and whole,
free to forgive, and free to save the world.
(A Course in Miracles, T-pI.97.2;7:2)

Our practice for today is to remember as frequently as possible that we are eternal Spirit, resting in God’s Love. With all the hustle, bustle of holiday preparations, we continue to return to this healing thought all through the day. We heal and are healed as we consistently practice returning to the truth about ourselves and our brothers today — we are Spirit.

Letting Ourselves Be Guided

It is quite possible to listen to God’s Voice all through the day without interrupting your regular activities in any way. The part of your mind in which truth abides is in constant communication with God, whether you are aware of it or not.…

The part that is listening to the Voice for God is calm, always at rest and wholly certain. It is really the only part there is. The other part is a wild illusion, frantic and distraught, but without reality of any kind. Try today not to listen to it. Try to identify with the part of your mind where stillness and peace reign forever. Try to hear God’s Voice call to you lovingly, reminding you that your Creator has not forgotten His Son. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.49.1:1-2;2)

As the bridge between our Creator and the dream we have made, the Holy Spirit sees the dream but does not believe it. We are told here that it is quite possible to function in the world but not believe it by paying attention to the Voice for God. We do this by focusing on the part of our mind that is always at peace and always certain. It is here that we hear God’s Voice.

We dedicate today to being vigilant for this place of peace within and receptive to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, which will always lead us with Love. This is how we will let God’s Voice speak to us all through the day.

Everyone’s Innocence Is Guaranteed by God

Salvation requires the acceptance of but one thought;—you are as God created you, not what you made of yourself. Whatever evil you may think you did, you are as God created you. Whatever mistakes you made, the truth about you is unchanged. Creation is eternal and unalterable. Your sinlessness is guaranteed by God. You are and will forever be exactly as you were created. Light and joy and peace abide in you because God put them there. (A Course in Miracles, T-pI.93.7)

Whenever there appears to be attack of any kind, from a ‘minor’ judgment to murder and suicide, it is important to remind ourselves that Light and joy and peace abide in everyone and everyone remains as God created them. God did not create bodies and so they are not there in truth. What is not there cannot harm or be harmed. The Light and joy and peace we are is eternal and unchangeable.

As we can accept this central thought, our minds return to peace. We remain at Home in the rock solid changelessness of God’s Love. Loss is impossible. Guilt is inconceivable in God’s Love, which guarantees our innocence. In this thought lies our freedom from guilt and pain. In this thought we rest in the certainty of God. And we give thanks.

Only Love Is There

Today it is our opportunity, once again, to see past the image making of separation to the truth that only Love is real. Changeless Love is our inheritance. Today we practice opening up to our inheritance and letting its healing Light heal our misperceptions. Our misperceptions make illusions of conflict and dismemberment. In truth we are eternally joined as one changeless Spirit of Love.

We give time today to let the Holy Spirit return us to the truth that only Love is there. Here we see that we are blessed and can only bless. Here we receive Holy Spirit’s gift and extend it to the world. In peace and joy, we give thanks.

A Prayer of Gratitude

Thank You, Father, for Your changeless Love. Thank You that Your Will for me is perfect happiness. Thank You for my brothers, whom You created one with me as Your one Son. Thank You for Your eternal gift of peace. Thank You for Your grace, which knows no illusions and thus they cannot be made real. Thank You that I remain as You created me — Love and nothing else.

The Joy of God Is Ours Now

Joy is an attribute of peace. If we want to be happy, we have to accept the peace of God within. That peace is ever present, but any judgment hides this peace from our awareness. When we let go of judgment — forgive — peace and joy fill our awareness. Our happiness does not depend upon any circumstance in the world. Happiness is a natural condition of accepting the will we share with God.

Today we practice stepping back from all our judgments and letting Holy Spirit show us the joyous Love that is everywhere. With His help we will see the happy face of Christ in everyone we meet. The joy within will extend out to bless every circumstance and everyone we meet or even think of. The joy of God is ours now. Today we would accept it in gratitude and peace.
