In God We Live in Gentleness and Joy

The Thought of God created you. It left you not, nor have you ever been apart from it an instant. It belongs to you. By it you live. It is your Source of life, holding you one with it, and everything is one with you because it left you not. The Thought of God protects you, cares for you, makes soft your resting place and smooth your way, lighting your mind with happiness and love. Eternity and everlasting life shine in your mind, because the Thought of God has left you not, and still abides with you. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.165.2)

Today we desire to remember God above all else. We join with Holy Spirit in seeing the world differently. We allow ourselves to see that only Love is there, behind the images of separate bodies and separate forms. We allow the peace and joy of our true nature to be remembered and extended to the world. This is our purpose for today, and every day.

To remember God is to remember our Self. It is to remember our perfect protection and our eternal Love. It is to live and be in gentleness and joy.

Today I See with Christ’s Vision

Christ’s vision has one law. It does not look upon a body, and mistake it for the Son whom God created. It beholds a light beyond the body; an idea beyond what can be touched, a purity undimmed by errors, pitiful mistakes, and fearful thoughts of guilt from dreams of sin. It sees no separation. And it looks on everyone, on every circumstance, all happenings and all events, without the slightest fading of the light it sees.

And this you give today: See no one as a body. Greet him as the Son of God he is, acknowledging that he is one with you in holiness. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.158.7:1-5;8:3-4)

Today we are willing to let the veil be lifted to see the eternal truth about every brother. We open to seeing every brother as the Holy Spirit sees him. As we receive the gift of truth, we extend it to all the world. This is our most important function. This is forgiveness. Every brother we think of we see as the holy Son of God he is. We see that we are one in God’s holiness.

Superman’s x-ray vision could be a metaphor for Christ’s vision. As Superman could see through buildings, Christ’s vision sees past the images of the world to the Light of truth that is the core of all God’s creation. Bodies and all images of form are gossamer veils that are easily seen past when we accept Christ’s vision.

Today we take the Hand of Holy Spirit and let Him show us the vision of Christ. With His help, we will see the innocence and Love that is the truth in all. With His help, we will disregard the images of the world and join with the Love that is ever-present. It will be a day of joy, for it will be a day of remembering Who we are.

Welcome Peace and Remember God

The memory of God comes to the quiet mind. It cannot come where there is conflict, for a mind at war against itself remembers not eternal gentleness. The means of war are not the means of peace, and what the warlike would remember is not love. War is impossible unless belief in victory is cherished. Conflict within you must imply that you believe the ego has the power to be victorious. Why else would you identify with it? Surely you realize the ego is at war with God. Certain it is it has no enemy. Yet just as certain is its fixed belief it has an enemy that it must overcome and will succeed.

Let all this madness be undone for you, and turn in peace to the remembrance of God, still shining in your quiet mind. (A Course in Miracles, T-23.I.1;8:9)

If we want to remember God and our Self, we must welcome God’s peace. His peace is already ours, but we must be willing to step back from the seeming conflicts in our world and allow ourselves to remember the peace that is always within us.

The ego is threatened by peace and will always come up with reasons for why we don’t have time or shouldn’t take time to go to peace. The maintenance of conflict is essential to the ego’s conviction that it is real. But as we are told here, the ego is an illusion, nothing, and conflict between illusions is conflict between nothing.

Our belief in the ego thought system of separation makes conflict seem real and defense seem justified. But when we are willing to welcome peace, we make way for the Holy Spirit to show us the unity of Love that lies behind the veil of conflict. Here is where all problems are quietly resolved. Here, in the peace of God, is where we remember that we remain as God created us—eternally Love and eternally loving.

Today we dedicate to peace first, that we may remember God.

Accepting the Christ Within

This Christmas give the Holy Spirit everything that would hurt you. Let yourself be healed completely that you may join with Him in healing, and let us celebrate our release together by releasing everyone with us. Leave nothing behind, for release is total, and when you have accepted it with me you will give it with me. All pain and sacrifice and littleness will disappear in our relationship, which is as innocent as our relationship with our Father, and as powerful. Pain will be brought to us and disappear in our presence, and without pain there can be no sacrifice. And without sacrifice there love must be. (A Course in Miracles, T-15.XI.3)

To let ourselves be healed completely, we must be willing to let the Holy Spirit replace all the images we have made. His vision will show us the Love that is the one Self we share as God’s Creation. Every image we make up in the dream of separation “hurts” us by making us unaware of the joy and peace and Love that we are. No one is excluded from this Love. This is why release is complete only when we release all the interfering images that hide the face of Christ from our awareness. There can be no exceptions if we would know the Christ within.

Today is dedicated to the practice of giving every thought of separation to the Holy Spirit to be undone. With this practice, we make way for “peace on earth and goodwill toward all men.”

Joining with Jesus to Let Love Be Extended

Your mind and mine can unite in shining your ego away, releasing the strength of God into everything you think and do. Do not settle for anything less than this, and refuse to accept anything but this as your goal. Watch your mind carefully for any beliefs that hinder its accomplishment, and step away from them. Judge how well you have done this by your own feelings, for this is the one right use of judgment. Judgment, like any other defense, can be used to attack or protect; to hurt or to heal. The ego should be brought to judgment and found wanting there. Without your own allegiance, protection and love, the ego cannot exist. Let it be judged truly and you must withdraw allegiance, protection and love from it.” (A Course in Miracles, T-4.IV.8:3-10)

Jesus is always in our minds, waiting to be accepted as one with us. As we open to this Light within, Jesus shines the ego away with the Light of Love. As the ego thoughts disappear, it becomes very clear that only Love is there. This is the greatest Christmas gift we could give to the whole Sonship — letting Jesus shine away the ego thoughts in our minds. And the gifts we give, we receive. This is the true meaning of Christmas — letting the Love of Jesus shine through us.

Let Love Be

To let Love be we must set aside all perceptions of behavior, words and images in the world and let Holy Spirit show us the Love that shines eternally beyond them. Only Love is real. It is eternal, changeless and ever present. We cannot be without Love. But we do make ourselves unaware of Love when we believe in the dream of separation.

Every sense of fear or loss or guilt is an opportunity to step back, refocus on the peace of God within and let Holy Spirit show us the Love that shines beyond these perceptions. This is our special function — to release the false beliefs reflected in our perceptions. This is how we forgive the world for all we thought it was. This is how we let Love be.

Accepting Our Limitlessness in God

You have no conception of the limits you have placed on your perception, and no idea of all the loveliness that you could see.

If you would but let the Holy Spirit tell you of the Love of God for you, and the need your creations have to be with you forever, you would experience the attraction of the eternal. No one can hear Him speak of this and long remain willing to linger here. For it is your will to be in Heaven, where you are complete and quiet, in such sure and loving relationships that any limit is impossible. Would you not exchange your little relationships for this? For the body is little and limited, and only those whom you would see without the limits the ego would impose on them can offer you the gift of freedom. (A Course in Miracles, T-15.IX.6:1;5:1-5)

We are being invited to see everyone without limits. Because we are one, everyone has and is all of God. We are not separate from our Source. We are not separate from all of Heaven.

Today is dedicated to allowing ourselves to remember that we are all the one continuous Light of God. We are one Light; there is no gap between us. We are unlimited because God is unlimited. We let this truth return to our minds today. We will to remember God as God is. We will to remember our Self as our Self is. We are willing to accept the peace of God and be happy today.
