Accepting Love as Our Life

My home awaits me. I will hasten there.

If I so choose, I can depart this world entirely. ²It is not death which makes this possible, but it is change of mind about the purpose of the world. ³If I believe it has a value as I see it now, so will it still remain for me. ⁴But if I see no value in the world as I behold it, nothing that I want to keep as mine or search for as a goal, it will depart from me. ⁵For I have not sought for illusions to replace the truth.

Father, my home awaits my glad return. ²Your Arms are open and I hear Your Voice. ³What need have I to linger in a place of vain desires and of shattered dreams, when Heaven can so easily be mine? (A Course in Miracles, W-226. See also ACIM Lesson 226 Insights.)

We can leave the world of fear and guilt by no longer valuing holding anything for ourselves alone. The truth in us, the oneness of Love, cannot conceive of any value in keeping something for Itself. It sees nothing but the joy and peace of Love everywhere. It knows this Love as Home.

Today we ask the Voice of Love to guide all our seeing and all our actions. In the awareness of Love, Its only response to anything is Love. This is the Heaven Love created as our Home. Only in this Home do we truly live, for Love is Life and Life is Love.

Accepting the Love in Which We Live

“I am spirit.

²I am the Son of God. ³No body can contain my spirit, nor impose on me a limitation God created not.

“I will accept my part in God’s plan for salvation.

²What can my function be but to accept the Word of God, Who has created me for what I am and will forever be? (A Course in Miracles, W-114.1–2. See also ACIM Lesson 114 Insights.)

To accept our part in God’s plan for salvation is to accept a life of Love, happiness and peace. This is God’s Will for us. If we do not experience this, it is only because we have denied God’s Will.

But we can change our mind. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can turn away from the ego’s wish for specialness and separation. We can let go of the insane wish to have more than everything. That wish has made us unaware us everything that is real.

Today we are willing to step back from this world and accept the Holy Spirit’s help to rise above and see that we live in God’s Love and nowhere else.

Gratitude for Our Identity as Love

Love, which created me, is what I am.

I seek my own Identity, and find It in these words: “Love, which created me, is what I am.” ²Now need I seek no more. ³Love has prevailed. ⁴So still It waited for my coming home, that I will turn away no longer from the holy face of Christ. ⁵And what I look upon attests the truth of the Identity I sought to lose, but which my Father has kept safe for me.

Father, my thanks to You for what I am; for keeping my Identity untouched and sinless, in the midst of all the thoughts of sin my foolish mind made up. ²And thanks to You for saving me from them. ³Amen. (A Course in Miracles, W-229. See also ACIM Lesson 229 Insights.)

In this world everyone searches for Love in some form. But we are searching only because we have denied What we are. The illusionary substitutes we have made for Love have introduced belief in differences and conflict into our minds. With this belief comes fear and guilt, for the differences hide the Love we are from our awareness. We are not different from each other. We are one with every brother in the Love of God.

Today we call upon the Love we are to guide our thoughts and heal our mistaken beliefs. Mistakes are healed when we forgive our wish to be special and different. No longer do we accept a false identity. As we accept the Love we are, we live in God’s joy and peace. We know we are safe and innocent. No harm can come to our Identity as Love’s creation. What is changeless cannot suffer harm.

Being Revitalized in God’s Love

“We ask for rest today, and quietness unshaken by the world’s appearances. ²We ask for peace and stillness, in the midst of all the turmoil born of clashing dreams. ³We ask for safety and for happiness, although we seem to look on danger and on sorrow.”

“I rest in God.” ²This thought will bring to you the rest and quiet, peace and stillness, and the safety and the happiness you seek. ³“I rest in God.” ⁴This thought has power to wake the sleeping truth in you, whose vision sees beyond appearances to that same truth in everyone and everything there is.

You rest within the peace of God today, and call upon your brothers from your rest to draw them to their rest, along with you. ²You will be faithful to your trust today, forgetting no one, bringing everyone into the boundless circle of your peace, the holy sanctuary where you rest. ³Open the temple doors and let them come from far across the world, and near as well; your distant brothers and your closest friends; bid them all enter here and rest with you. It’s exhausting to deny our unity with Love and maintain an illusion of a separate identity. The illusion of the body has to be rested every day. But the most important rest we can take is to rest in God. This rest revitalizes us because it reminds us of the Life we live in God. This is our real Life, our only true Life.

We can pause for moments throughout the day today to remind ourselves to rest in God. This pause will revitalize our connection with our Source. It helps us let Love guide all our doing. This is our practice today. It is how we will remember the Love we are, and see the Love every brother is. When we rest in God, we rest in His peace and joy.

Letting Love Guide Our Way

God is my Father, and His Son loves Him.

Father, I must return Your Love for me, for giving and receiving are the same, and You have given all Your Love to me. ²I must return it, for I want it mine in full awareness, blazing in my mind and keeping it within its kindly light, inviolate, beloved, with fear behind and only peace ahead. ³How still the way Your loving Son is led along to You!

Brother, we find that stillness now. ²The way is open. ³Now we follow it in peace together. ⁴You have reached your hand to me, and I will never leave you. ⁵We are one, and it is but this oneness that we seek, as we accomplish these few final steps which end a journey that was not begun. We can only give something we know we have. If we do not give the Love God gives us, we do not know we have it. So the way to know God’s peace and Love is to give It. We can only give His Love without judgment. His Love is not given selectively; It is given equally to all.

This is why forgiveness is essential to know God’s peace and Love. We have to let go of our selectivity, our wishes that things be a certain way. This applies to everything in this dream of a world of separation. To forgive truly, we need to see with the eyes of Love. We can call on the Holy Spirit in our minds to help us see with Christ’s vision. There is no judgment in His vision. It sees only Love’s oneness and equality.

We dedicate today to letting Love guide our way, moment by moment.

The Gift That Comes as Illusions Are Let Go

I can give up but what was never real.

I sacrifice illusions; nothing more. ²And as illusions go I find the gifts illusions tried to hide, awaiting me in shining welcome, and in readiness to give God’s ancient messages to me. ³His memory abides in every gift that I receive of Him. ⁴And every dream serves only to conceal the Self which is God’s only Son, the likeness of Himself, the Holy One Who still abides in Him forever, as He still abides in me.

Father, to You all sacrifice remains forever inconceivable. ²And so I cannot sacrifice except in dreams. ³As You created me, I can give up nothing You gave me. ⁴What You did not give has no reality. ⁵What loss can I anticipate except the loss of fear, and the return of love into my mind? (A Course in Miracles, W-322. See also ACIM Lesson 322 Insights.)

Fear and guilt only occur when illusions are believed to be real. Illusions hide the Love we are, and in which we live, from our awareness. Our only problem is that we don’t recognize illusions for what they are.

But we have been given an inner Teacher to help us learn to recognize illusions as illusions. Forgiveness is the means through which we see past illusions to the truth. As we accept the Holy Spirit’s help, we learn to let go of our mistaken beliefs that keep the dream in place.

We call upon His help by seeking the peace of God within. Peace is ever present. As we pause and quiet our mind, we welcome the Holy Spirit’s vision, which shows us that we remain safe in God’s Love. There is indeed nothing to fear, for we live in Love. As we let Love guide our thoughts, words and actions, we become His messengers. We are healed as we let Him teach us to heal.

Walking with God in Peace and Gratitude

In peace I was created. ²And in peace do I remain. ³It is not given me to change my Self. ⁴How merciful is God my Father, that when He created me He gave me peace forever. ⁵Now I ask but to be what I am. ⁶And can this be denied me, when it is forever true?

Father, I seek the peace You gave as mine in my creation. ²What was given then must be here now, for my creation was apart from time, and still remains beyond all change. ³The peace in which Your Son was born into Your Mind is shining there unchanged. ⁴I am as You created me. ⁵I need but call on You to find the peace You gave. ⁶It is Your Will that gave it to Your Son. We cannot change our true Identity. This is the guarantee that peace of mind is available to us in every now moment. Only our belief in illusions of the past can disturb our peace. Because they are not real, these memories of a past can be dispelled when we are willing to accept the Holy Spirit’s true perception of reality in place of our misperceptions.

We welcome His reinterpretations by being willing to accept the peace of God within us. It is always there to be called upon. Our call for peace expresses our willingness to let our mind be healed.

We walk with God today in peace and gratitude.
