Guilty… NO!  I AM… YES!

In the dream of separation, Linda, the dreamer has been hypnotized by messages constantly bombarding her and filled with fearful stories of sickness, sin, and death. Until becoming ACIM student, she wasn’t taught to even question the messages and asking whether they were true. She didn’t know she had within her an Inner Teacher that was the Voice of Truth and Wisdom, the Voice for God. She didn’t know she could go within at any time and ask her Inner Teacher, the Holy Spirit, to help her sort out what was real from what was a made up story. Until she learned to trust this Voice, she was lost in a dream of terror and guilt, and in stories of pain, sickness and suffering.

Feet First

Sometimes I feel guilt around the fact that, even though in my heart I want to be healed, and I do put some effort into remembering I am free, I don’t make as much effort as I should; I don’t remember the truth as often as “I would like” and I despair that I’m getting nowhere closer to any healing. Then something happens that shows that Holy Spirit knows that there is willingness in my heart and that no effort is ever wasted.

As I Recognize Truth, I Am Happy Everywhere

One day as I was praying I said to God, “Father I hope I am really learning all the lessons I came here to learn because I really don’t want to ever have to come back to the earth. It is too painful here.” Almost immediately I heard the reply, “You will know you have learned the lessons when that is no longer true for you, Heaven is not a place out there somewhere that you will be transported to after your earthly existence is over. It is in your mind now. So whether you are in a body on the earth or not you will feel only Love, Joy and peace.”

Behind the Curtain

We know the perils of earth yet we step into the dream like an old coat, not thinking about the consequences. It is only in the briefest of moments when we see the play being played out before our eyes that we stir with awakening.

It is in this moment where Eternity and Love reside: A space so illuminated, so filled with grace that our memory is restored — our memory of what we had forgotten; a true essence of innocence, beauty, sinlessness, perfection, unconditional, everlasting Love — exquisiteness, a place without limits just for our awakening.

A Holiday in the Hills and One More Step On My Journey Home

It was two weeks after being ordained as a Ministerial Counselor. I was looking forward to a couple of days in the hills of Derbyshire with an old childhood friend. We had planned this months ago and I was excited about walking in the hills again. I had been experiencing some pain but I had no intention of cancelling my trip. Even so I was a little anxious. I wouldn’t be telling anyone about my difficulty because I know that whatever may appear as a bodily difficulty needs a correction of my thought, so discussing this with someone would serve no purpose other than alarm others.

The One About Anger

I opened the Course the other day and was drawn to the conditions necessary for anger to manifest; “Anger cannot occur unless you believe that you have been attacked, that your attack is justified in return, and that you are in no way responsible for it.” (T-6.Intro.1:3)

With curiosity, I contemplated how those words might be helpful to me. Lately my life seems to be pretty much anger free. (Hey, sometimes it happens — don’t be so surprised!) Because I really believed there was a message for me, I felt much opened to receive.
