I No Longer Just “Get It”

Accepting the Reality as put forth by “J” and his plan for a gentle awakening has become very refreshing and inspiring. I am not just talking about getting my own mind opened by accepting guidance from the Divine Spark in my mind. That in itself is beyond what I ever dreamed. I am taking about extending and accepting the Divine Spark from the rest of my true Self — my Brother. It is through this experience I find the full richness of bliss and Love.

I prayed for Guidance and I found it true that all prayer is answered. It is possible also that the answer will not be heard, as,  “...no response given by Him will ever be one that would increase fear. It is possible that His answer will not be heard. It is impossible, however, that it will be lost. There are many answers you have already received but have not yet heard. I assure you that they are waiting for you.” (T-9.II.3:3-7)

In my prayer I asked for a different way to look at my acceptance of abundance. This prayer includes: The ease of inspiration and joining with others, willingness to turn over the stones in the garden where I deny love or trade peace for fear, right down to the trust I have in my bank account.

Knowing that I am sincere in healing my mind from years of consorting with a twisted mind in thoughts of specialness and separation, I allow Holy Spirit to guide me. I awoke in the morning, refreshed and ready for the day. I looked at the clock and it was 4:00 a.m. I am no longer bound by a schedule of what’s supposed to be in relationship to my peace or physical condition. I got up and opened the ACIM Text on the table randomly, with Holy Spirit’s direction. I turned to page 163, “The Answer to Prayer.”

I found that the answer to my prayer or the answer I had not yet heard is awaiting in my brother. I discovered I was lacking faith in my brother. I questioned him discovering that faith in the truth about him, which is really my faith in the truth about myself. I had been questioning my own faith. I found that my doubts about my brother were really the doubts I was harboring about myself. I was claiming nothing to be something and this was the barrier to Oneness, the barrier to my awakening to the truth.

I was not fully aware that the message my brother gives me is up to me. What does he say to me? What would I have him say? My decision to see him as he truly is and not just his behavior determines the message I receive. I asked to remember the Holy Spirit in him, and His Voice speaks to me through him. What can so holy a brother tell me except the truth? But am I listening to it? My brother may not know who he is, but there is a Light in his mind that does. This Light can shine into mine, giving truth to his words and if I allow myself to hear them, all is One. His words are Holy Spirit’s answer to me. “Is my faith in him strong enough to let me hear?”  (T-9.II.3:5:11) 

I have for a tiny moment deceived myself and glossed over it. “J” was not deceived and I was not doubted. My true Inheritance, the Kingdom of Heaven remains in eternity right now. It is not for me alone, for I am never alone. The Truth is true and nothing else. I hear the answer to my prayer through my brother and hearing only the Truth in my brother. All is included in the Truth and the Sonship, for they are one. I see and hear the Truth in my brother with my True Self.

No longer do I just “get it.” As part of my miracles practice, I am in awareness of miracle-readiness. Am I listening for His Voice? Have I made the decision to see my brother as a holy Son of God? Am I learning to unlearn the perceived error I see or hear In the story I made up from my perception of my brother? Am I applying true forgiveness of the story I made up, and is that now nothing in reality to my True Self? Am I doing my part in letting Holy Spirit apply the correction to my error? I am not here to fix my brother. “Of the “Listen, learn, do” only the last is involuntary, because it is the application of miracles which must be Christ controlled. The other two are voluntary aspects of miracle-mindedness, are up to you.” (JCIM principle #47, page 5)

My prayer being stated, I remember “J’s” restatement of the inclusion being all and having all is my original condition of Creation by God. I lack nothing.

All that is Real is given. My brother and I remain in eternity as we were created as one.

I must have gotten the question wrong. I ask that you join me in the reality of “listen, learn and do” and rediscover the limitless Love that is the truth in us all. In Reality that has no opposition. No longer do I argue with Reality and let a story of doubt seem possible. No longer do I desire love, appreciation or approval. I truly have been given Love and am approved and appreciated by Creation. Am I listening and learning? Peace and blessing are done for All.

The Truth Will Correct All Errors in My Mind

One day I touched my external ear and I felt that in the lower part of it there was a tiny little lump the size of a lentil. After a couple of years it had grown to be the size of a chick-pea.

My dentist advised me to have a biopsy done and the surgeon I visited suggested I have the lump removed. My son-in-law, who works in that hospital, told me that the result of the test showed the presence of some cancerous cells and for that I would be called by the oncology department.

A few days later, I was called by the oncology department of Dr. Negrin Hospital to set an appointment.

Once there, I was informed that malignant cells had been in my parotid gland and that it could be removed completely. I was told it was a simple operation that did not require chemotherapy or any other aggressive treatment afterwards.

I had to go through a neck and a digestive ultrasound scan and a lung x-ray. With all that, I asked for an appointment with the maxilla facial surgeon.

The day I was due to go I repeated Lesson 107 titled, “Truth will correct all errors in my mind.” The previous day this had comforted me so much and I repeated these words all the way to see the doctor, telling myself, “No matter what the doctor says, it is not true. I’m not a body and everything is all right.”

I went alone and I was feeling such a peace that not even for a moment was I worried or afraid. I looked at all the people around me and mentally told them, “Don’t believe you are sick. It is not possible. It is all a dream. You have the ability to wake up.”

When I was called I went in and the doctor, after studying all the information, said, “Well, what you have is a benign parotid tumor. You may have it removed or not, at your will.” And I said, “In that case, why have I been called to oncology?” The answer was, “I’m asking the same question myself.”

When I asked him for advice, he said he wouldn’t operate but encouraged me to simply keep having check ups. He also said that only in the case of growing would he remove it. He also said that it was a process that could take years and years to happen.

As I left the doctor’s office I thanked Holy Spirit for letting me see the miracle He accomplished with healing my mind by correcting my erroneous perception.

My Most Important Awareness

Dear reader: Charlie is my inner Friend and Companion, Who brings me helpful answers, when I am willing to ask. Charlie is the same as the Holy Spirit to me.

Hi “Charlie,” Thanks for the questions, you clever little Thought Promoter for God. And thanks for your gentle toss of my eternal Light Ball back to me from your Pitcher’s Mound of Eternity.

And now, one of your questions: What do I, little Bobby Thompson, take back with me into my life on earth?

Well, Charlie, one thing for sure, after walking into the candle’s flame and then expanding into and becoming the Light of the entire known and unknown universe, all attachments immediately became non-existent.

Or, said in an affirming and positive way, I experienced the peace of God.

Once I experienced this, Charlie, I knew that I never would forget it. How could I forget the greatest experience of my life? The indescribable feeling of an eternal serenity inherent in me, always available right now, in this every moment, just by thinking about it, is an awesome awareness.
What a gift! No one can ever take it from me! It is always mine. Mine, mine, mine!

Only I can give it up. And the only way that I can give up this Divine Serenity? By thinking un-peaceful thoughts. Any unpeaceful thought is an unholy thought.

All unpeaceful thoughts, tiny or great, are unholy thoughts. They blur my mirrors and keep me from seeing Who I really am. A teacher of God is a teacher of the peace of God.

So, Charlie, what I will take back with me into this world, is the awareness of the peace of God. I know now that the peace of God exists. Eternaly. In me. Always there, awaiting only my loving, gentle thought to emerge and transform my now into a miracle of peace!

Unnecessary Thoughts

After reading the Introduction to part II of ACIM Workbook, I had these thoughts come to me. “We have found the way He chose for us, and made the choice to follow it as He would Have us go. His Hand has held us up. His thoughts have lit the darkness of our minds. His Love has called to us unceasingly since time began.” (W-pII.Intro.8:2-5)

—His Love heals all unnecessary thoughts.—I have many unnecessary thoughts. Their only “purpose” is to keep the ego “alive.” Unnecessary thoughts are meaningless; they bring delusion and deceit. Yet part of my mind declares that it is this I want. Why choose to let this part rule my world when it only brings me conflict, confusion and pain? Why choose pain when I can have peace and joy? Only the belief that “I” deserve punishment and nothing else, brings the illusion of punishment.

His Love heals all unnecessary thoughts. The thoughts of fear are unnecessary to the real Self. Unnecessary thoughts are fear thoughts.  They come only from the belief in ego and from following ego. I can learn that such thoughts are really nothing.

In Reality there is no conflict, I have only one goal. There is no confusion, I have one desire; there is no pain for all is Love. If I choose the opposite of Love, I delude myself and I am mistaken. My mistakes will be undone as I give them up and turn them over to Holy Spirit.

I Choose peace first. There I hear the Voice for Love. “The peace of God is my one goal; the aim of all my living here, the end I seek, my purpose and my function and my life, while I abide where I am not at home.” (W-pII.205.1:3)
