Avenues Of Communication To God Thought

I am an avenue of communication.  Regardless of ego, I am open to the message of God.  That message is love and acceptance of what is.  Ego concerns cannot stop this communication from taking place.  God is always communicating with me.  Holy Spirit helps me see and hear this.  Holy Spirit translates for me what God is communicating into words, pictures, and feelings that I can understand right where I am.

All I need do to recognize what is being communicated by God is to spend some quiet time each day when I consciously intend to lay aside ego concerns.  I sit quietly, looking at my ego thoughts and letting them softly drift away.  I listen.  When ego doubts what I am seeing or hearing, I let that go as well.  I hang onto nothing.  I merely sit in trust that Holy Spirit is at work translating for me what God is communicating.

Sometimes people tell me it is hard for them to meditate because their minds are so busy and they cannot clear them of endless thoughts about everyday matters.  They don’t feel like their minds are quieting.  That is OK, I tell them.  Just listen and let the thought go.  The mind does not quiet quickly without practice.  All efforts to distance from ego thoughts are helpful.  To sit quietly and begin distancing from ego is meditation.  There is nothing mysterious or magical about it.

To sit in meditation and to recognize for even an instant that there is some thing, some one greater at work than our little selves makes all the difference.  As we open little by little, more and more, to God’s communication with us, our lives begin to change.  Our lives change because our mind changes from one of generating endless ego thought to one that listens to God Thought.  God Thought is only love and joy.  Perhaps we see this on the first day, perhaps we don’t.  That is not important.

What is important is trying.  What is important is recognizing than an effort to listen to God Thought leads us to healing in a most profound way.  How and when this takes place during our listening time, or even after, is in Holy Spirit’s capable hands.  He translates for us in a way and time that is just perfect for us.  We never hear a minute before we are really ready to listen.  How often has a friend shared something with you that you conveniently dismissed and it remained unheard, until at last it dawned on you what they were saying.  You finally heard it because you listened in a new way.  You were ready to hear.

God is always patient.  Friends are not always patient, but God is.  Holy Spirit gently and patiently helps us to listen and connect to the place in our mind where we receive God Thought.  We are an avenue of communication.  Holy Spirit takes us down the avenue at just the right speed.  We always reach the destination, sometimes slower, sometimes faster.  Whatever works for us. 

That place in our mind where light and peace and joy abide never changes.  It is always reachable.  In meditation we open ourselves to the avenue of communication that takes us there.  All we need do is try to listen and trust.  Holy Spirit will take care of everything else.  Its that simple.  Holy Spirit is the driver, we just agree to be the passenger in the vehicle of transportation and transformation.  We would not lead or direct, we would merely follow and listen.

And so, sit quietly today with me in listening to Holy Spirit communicate to us God Thought.  We are one in this journey and one in the destination.  I share with you my experience and you share with me yours, and in this we both gain and benefit.  We speed each other on as we passage together.  Our bodies need not be in contact for they are unimportant and unecessary, but perhaps they becomes avenues for sharing.  I am certain that the place in our mind where we connect with God is one and I will see you there with love.  We will meet there in love, and we will be joyful in this meeting.  Join me won’t you, for I am thinking of you with love and looking forward to our joyous reunion in God Thought.
