The Power of Our Decision

How can a meaningless world exist if God did not create it? He is the Source of all meaning, and everything that is real is in His Mind. It is in my mind too, because He created it with me. Why should I continue to suffer from the effects of my own insane thoughts, when the perfection of creation is my home? Let me remember the power of my decision, and recognize where I really abide. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.53.4:2-6)

In every moment we have the option to choose to see with the Holy Spirit instead of the ego. The ego cannot see what the Holy Spirit sees. It cannot see truth, wholeness or innocence. But if we so choose, we can see the innocence, the Love that is our brother and our Self. Nothing real exists outside this Self that God created as His one Son. The seeming option is only a choice between what exists and what does not.

Today we dedicate, by our decision, to aligning our minds with the Holy Spirit and joining with His vision. With this decision we will see our innocence reflected in the world. We will recognize that we remain safe at Home in the Love of God. With Holy Spirit’s help, we will overlook the images of the ego world and recognize that we are Spirit at Home in God. We have the power to decide to recognize our eternal safety. It is this we practice today.

Remembering We Are One Self

You are one Self, in perfect harmony with all there is, and all that there will be. You are one Self, the holy Son of God, united with your brothers in that Self; united with your Father in His Will. Feel this one Self in you, and let It shine away all your illusions and your doubts. This is your Self, the Son of God Himself, sinless as Its Creator, with His strength within you and His Love forever yours. You are one Self, and it is given you to feel this Self within you, and to cast all your illusions out of the one Mind that is this Self, the holy truth in you. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.95.13)

Our one Self is always there in our minds waiting for our acceptance. As we open to our one Self, we are naturally filled with a deep sense of peace and well being. We inherently know that, in truth, all is well and everything is all right. We inherently know that we are eternally safe in the one Mind of God. All our doubts disappear in Its healing Light.

Our practice for today is to consistently open up to the healing Light of our one Self. With consistent practice we let our one Self express through us. We remember that every brother is one with us in our one Self. We share one Identity. And for this we give thanks.

Opening to Our Holy Vision

Your purpose is to see the world through your own holiness. Thus are you and the world blessed together. No one loses; nothing is taken away from anyone; everyone gains through your holy vision. It signifies the end of sacrifice because it offers everyone his full due. And he is entitled to everything because it is his birthright as a Son of God. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.37.1:2-6)

To give everyone their full due, we must be willing to open up to Holy Spirit’s vision. The Holy Spirit remembers that everyone has all of God in them, just like we do. The true beingness of everyone is the same Love of God.

To practice this consistently we must exercise our “I don’t know what anything means” muscle. It seems so easy to bring the past to the present and project it into the future. So we practice, again and again, stepping back and letting Holy Spirit show us the eternal present in God. Practicing this consistently is worth the effort. It brings us peace, happiness and joy. We are brought to the awareness of our real Life, the Life we all live in God as God’s one holy Son.

So we practice today, again and again, letting Holy Spirit lead the way, healing our perceptions of separation and returning us to the awareness of Love’s eternal Presence. This is how we see the world through our own holiness. This is how we accept our birthright as a Son of God.

We Rise Above the Battleground

In every moment we have the opportunity to rise above the battleground of the ego’s world to see the Love that is ever present. We take the opportunity each time we are willing to let the Holy Spirit interpret all our perceptions. Anything we try to interpret on our own will be mistaken because it is based upon an imagined past.

But when we let the Holy Spirit interpret all things on our behalf, we will learn to see the Love and oneness beyond the fear and disconnectedness. This is how we forgive. This is how we loose the world from all we thought it was. This is how we return to Love. We are grateful for another day filled with opportunities to practice rising above the battleground.

Receive Peace. Extend Peace.

The peace of God is shining in you now, and from your heart extends around the world. It pauses to caress each living thing, and leaves a blessing with it that remains forever and forever. What it gives must be eternal. It removes all thoughts of the ephemeral and valueless. It brings renewal to all tired hearts, and lights all vision as it passes by. All of its gifts are given everyone, and everyone unites in giving thanks to you who give, and you who have received. (A Course in Miracles, W-pI.188.3)

The greatest gift we can receive and give is the gift of God’s peace. It purifies our mind of all wandering thoughts and brings with it a sense of well being, safety and caring. Its kind Light extends through us to the world. God’s gift of peace sets everything right again, when we feel lost and unsettled. It brings us back to our Source, where we belong. It is our rudder, our safety, as we travel in the rough seas of constant change in this world.

Receiving God’s gift of peace brings all the inspiration we need with any circumstance we encounter. We open to the Light and the Light leads us Home. Receiving peace purifies our view of the world so we can see clearly. Today our practice is to focus on receiving peace and as we receive peace, we just naturally extend it to the world.

Opening to the Holy Spirit’s Light

Today is an opportunity to see the face of innocence — the Love of God — in everyone and everything, everywhere. It is always there to see. But to see It we must be willing to give up our wild imaginings, our dreams of individuality and specialness.

Today we dedicate to holding our minds open to the Holy Spirit’s Light that it may shine on everything we encounter to show us the truth beyond the forms. We gladly offer all our perceptions to the Light. We are willing to let the Light shine away the mistaken beliefs and welcome the truth of our oneness in Love. This is how we will recognize our brother as our one Self. This is how we let the world of conflict be replaced by the real world that sees only our oneness. We are willing to receive God’s gift of all His Love today.

Our Only Real Need

The world you see must be denied, for sight of it is costing you a different kind of vision. You cannot see both worlds, for each of them involves a different kind of seeing, and depends on what you cherish.

And what you call with love will come to you. Love always answers, being unable to deny a call for help, or not to hear the cries of pain that rise to it from every part of this strange world you made but do not want. All that you need to give this world away in glad exchange for what you did not make is willingness to learn the one you made is false.

Love leads so gladly! As you follow Him, you will rejoice that you have found His company, and learned of Him the joyful journey home.

Love waits on welcome, not on time, and the real world is but your welcome of what always was. (A Course in Miracles, T-13.VII.2:1-2;4:2-4;6:3-4;9:7)

We have dreamed a dream of being separate and alone, vulnerable to a world that we see as outside us. We are learning that these are simply mistaken thoughts. We are leaning to forgive or let go of these thoughts and welcome the truth.

We are so grateful we have an inner Guide, our true Self That leads us out of fear as soon as we are willing to be open to mind healing. We gratefully accept Love’s lead as we see the Love in every brother and join in Love’s eternal oneness.
