A Day of Grace

Today the lights of Heaven bend to you, to shine upon your eyelids as you rest beyond the world of darkness. Here is light your eyes can not behold. And yet your mind can see it plainly, and can understand. A day of grace is given you today, and we give thanks. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.129.8:1-4)

Today I choose to accept the grace that is given me. God’s grace is always there, waiting for my acceptance. I make today holy by accepting God’s gift of grace. By His grace, I could never make a world of lack and loss real. Beyond this world is a world of peace and Love I become aware of as I receive God’s grace — this very day. I relax and let myself be carried by accepting God’s gift of grace all through the day today.

A Prayer to Remember Our Identity

This is our prayer today: Help us, our Father, to see as you see. We would give the Love that You gave us to give. We would see the Love that is our Identity. Help us to extend this Love in the world of seeming separation, for we would remember that our Identity is in You and only You. We would remember that our Identity is Love and nothing else. Help us extend this message of Love throughout the day.

Remembering I am One With My Source

I’m grateful for another day to practice letting Holy Spirit be my Guide in all my seeing and doing. I’m grateful for the opportunity to see the Love of God is everywhere.

Every moment is an opportunity to see the gift of God’s Love that is eternally mine but has been unacknowledged because I thought I was separate from my Source. As I step back into peace today, I walk with God, feel His loving Presence in me, and let It flow through to all my brothers, who are one with me.

Looking Past the World

Above all else I want to see differently. The world I see holds my fearful self-image in place, and guarantees its continuance. While I see the world as I see it now, truth cannot enter my awareness. I would let the door behind this world be opened for me, that I may look past it to the world that reflects the Love of God. (A Course in Miracles W-pI.56.3)

The Holy Spirit is always there in my mind, waiting to show me the truth that is hidden behind the illusions of separate bodies I am seeing. The Holy Spirit patiently waits to show me that only Love is there.

Today is dedicated to letting the Holy Spirit show me the truth behind every separate form. When I am willing to let the door behind this world be opened for me, I will see that perfect security and complete fulfillment are my inheritance. I will feel safe and at peace, remembering that only Love is real.

This is worth the practice. What could be more important than waking up from the dream of separation and recognizing what I am and where I am in Truth? And the good news is that everyone is there, one with God’s Love, along with me.

I have a long established habit of thinking I am on my own. Along with that I think it’s up to me to make things happen. It’s up to me to open the door behind the world to see past it. If it’s going to get done, I’ve got to do it. This is circular thinking because it is this thinking that keeps the door closed.

Two key words in the above quote are “let” and “for.” All I have to do is let the door behind this world be opened for me. My job is simply to get out of the way. Nothing more. My practice today is to step back and step aside to let Holy Spirit open the door to the vision of Christ that sees beyond the world of form.

Shifting from Time to Eternity

Healing occurs as we are willing to let the Holy Spirit bring us past perception of time to see the eternal Truth in everyone. As we are willing, the Holy Spirit shows us that time is an illusion and only the eternal is real.

Our practice for today is to devote our “time” to receive Holy Spirit’s correction of our misperceptions throughout the day. It is very tempting to give reality to all the stories found in time. Because our only true purpose is to wake up from these dreams of time and space and differences, it is only our one true Self That remembers the truth of eternity for us.

Today our practice is to return again and again to hear the Holy Spirit give us a correction of our perception — to bring us from time to eternity. With Holy Spirit, we are reminded again and again that only the eternal is real. We all are eternally still as God created us. Nothing has happened to change God’s one Son. Returning to this truth again and again is what today is for. We have it all and are it all right now because only God’s eternal Love is real.

Listening for Holy Spirit’s Inspiration

The Course tells us that the Holy Spirit sees our dreams but does not believe them. This is a clue for how we are to be in the world. It seems that we look out through the body’s eyes, make sounds with our mouths we call words, can feel things we touch. Yet all these are illusions that we are being asked to release. We release them by doing what Holy Spirit does — don’t believe in them. This seems like a balancing act because while we are doing things in the world, it’s easy to fall back into the habit of believing that the things we do and say and see are real.

We need the Holy Spirit’s help — the steadfast certainty that none of this is real and only Love is real — to lean on as we let go of the meaningless images of the world. We can’t do it on our own. The practice of stepping back as often as we can remember throughout the day and checking in with Holy Spirit’s perspective is how we loosen our identification with the seeming reality of the world. This is how we forgive the world. This is how we use the images of the world as instruments in service to the Holy Spirit that will lead us Home to the full remembrance that we remain as God created us.

Today our practice is to put peace first and hold our minds open to Holy Spirit’s inspiration.

Accepting God’s Peace in This Present Moment

Today our practice is to open our minds to receive God’s peace. Peace melts away what was never true. Peace purifies the mind of all thoughts of conflict. Peace dissolves the barriers to Love and welcome’s Love’s Presence.

Peace is not a little gift. As we are willing to accept peace, all of Holy Spirit’s inspiration for how to be truly helpful in the present moment comes with it. Today we ask only to accept Holy Spirit’s peace and to extend it to the world. As we accept peace, we let Holy Spirit’s plan flow through us and experience its blessing as it blesses the world.
