Accepting Holy Spirit’s Help

Today I have the opportunity to open up and accept the Help that lies within. I do this by allowing my mind to quiet… I quietly welcome Holy Spirit’s Light…

I let the peace and gentleness fill every corner of my mind… I let go of control… I let all tension be washed away in Holy Spirit’s ever-flowing river of peace… I give every distracting thought to the Holy Spirit… He knows what to do with it.

I am brought into a journey without distance… I become aware of the eternal joy and peace that lies within everyone… I see that everyone is at home in God now… I am filled with a sense of gratitude that nothing other than God’s eternal Presence of Love could ever be real…

I am brought to the awareness that carrying this awareness of God’s presence with me all through the day is how I heal and am healed. As I accept Holy Spirit’s help, I will see the Light of the presence of Love in everyone I meet or think of today.

See Past Form to the Love

The body’s eyes see only form. They cannot see beyond what they were made to see. And they were made to look on error and not see past it.…

Let your awareness of your brother not be blocked by your perception of his sins and of his body.… Beyond his errors is his holiness and your salvation.…

A holy relationship, however newly born, must value holiness above all else. (A Course in Miracles T-22.III.5:3-5;8:3,5;9:1)

It is helpful for us to be reminded frequently that everything the body’s eyes see is illusion. Seeing separate bodies is the opposite of seeing with the vision of Christ, Who sees only Love’s oneness. Seeing through the ego’s thought system of separation only brings pain and suffering.

Through forgiveness we learn to see past bodies and what bodies seem to do and say. The Course’s mind training program in the Workbook begins with helping us recognize that nothing we see means anything and we don’t of ourselves know what anything means. This is an essential step to help us open our minds to the forgiveness that comes when we accept Christ’s vision in place of what the body sees. With Christ’s vision, we see only Love in our brother and learn that we are only Love. This practice is the path to freedom.

Letting God’s Light Shine Away the Past

In the holy instant nothing happens that has not always been. Only the veil that has been drawn across reality is lifted. Nothing has changed. Yet the awareness of changelessness comes swiftly as the veil of time is pushed aside.…

In the holy instant God is remembered, and the language of communication with all your brothers is remembered with Him. For communication is remembered together, as is truth. There is no exclusion in the holy instant because the past is gone, and with it goes the whole basis for exclusion. (A Course in Miracles T-15.VI.6:1-4,8:1-3)

We have one goal and that is to awaken from the false idea of separate, unique identities. This goal is accomplished by the Holy Spirit as we are willing to listen and be open to letting our thoughts be purified of ego thinking. We do this by consistently stepping back from our interpretations based on the past with willingness to accept Holy Spirit’s vision.

In truth every Son of God is changeless Love, including ourselves. In truth the past is gone and only Love is there. Love extends equally to all without exclusion or limitation. Letting awareness of this return is our practice for today.

Joining to Awaken

God’s Teacher speaks to any two who join together for learning purposes. The relationship is holy because of that purpose, and God has promised to send His Spirit into any holy relationship. In the teaching-learning situation, each one learns that giving and receiving are the same. The demarcations they have drawn between their roles, their minds, their bodies, their needs, their interests, and all the differences they thought separated them from one another, fade and grow dim and disappear. (A Course in Miracles M-2.5:3-6)

There is only one meaningful lesson to learn — Only Love is real. It is in learning this lesson that we recognize that there is truly no difference between us. When we meet another in the world, it does not seem that there is no difference between us at the level of form. But when we are willing to let our inner Teacher show us the Reality beyond the form of that seeming “other,” this meeting becomes an opportunity to recognize our holiness. As we see the holiness in our brother with the Holy Spirit’s help, we learn of our own holiness. Giving and receiving are the same.

When we allow ourselves to accept Holy Spirit’s vision of a brother, it is a joyful experience, free of conflict and infused with Love. These moments bring a hint of Heaven. They are so enriching that they motivate the ongoing practice of asking Holy Spirit’s help to be our Interpreter in each moment. With this practice, each moment can be a holy encounter in which our shared innocence is recognized. What a joyful lesson to learn.

I Remember to Choose Peace

I choose peace now…

I quietly allow the Holy Spirit to be in charge of my mind.

As Holy Spirit heals my mind, all thoughts of conflict fall away…

As they fall away, I recognize that peace has always been there, waiting for my mind to quiet and recognize its presence.

I bathe in this river of peace… Everything softens in the healing waters of peace…

I allow my mind to rest while peace fills me with the joy, confidence and loving peace that only the Holy Spirit can bring.

I give thanks for the healing power of peace.

God’s Family Reunion

We have a mission here. We did not come to reinforce the madness that we once believed in. Let us not forget the goal that we accepted.…

I will accept Atonement for myself,
For I remain as God created me.

We have not lost the knowledge that God gave to us when He created us like Him. We can remember it for everyone, for in creation are all minds as one. And in our memory is the recall how dear our brothers are to us in truth, how much a part of us is every mind, how faithful they have really been to us, and how our Father’s Love contains them all.” (A Course in Miracles W-pI.139.9:1-3,11:3-6)

It is very comforting to remember that our Father’s Love contains us all. An image came to mind of a loving family gathering with no conflict of ego’s — only the joy of being with our brothers and sisters and remembering we are one with each other. Happy communication is exchanged in the free flow of Love extending to Itself. When there are no barriers of misperceived separation, we do experience the happy union/reunion of God’s family of Love. We can include everyone in the world in this family simply by accepting that we all remain as God created us. What a happy family reunion!

Accepting the Holy Instant

In the holy instant, you will see the smile of Heaven shining on both you and your brother. …Your perception was healed in the holy instant Heaven gave you. Forget what you have seen, and raise your eyes in faith to what you now can see. The barriers to Heaven will disappear before your holy sight, for you who were sightless have been given vision, and you can see. Look not for what has been removed, but for the glory that has been restored for you to see. (A Course in Miracles T-19.III.10:1,4-7 italics added)

Our practice for today is to reinforce mind healing by accepting the holy instant throughout the day. The holy instant removes the barriers to Love which came from the ego’s thought system. Willingness to follow Holy Spirit’s gentle correction all through the day is all that is truly important. Welcoming Holy Spirit’s inspiration consistently through the day is following His plan.

In the holy instant, perception of conflict disappears. It is replaced by the calm certainty of changeless Love. In this certainty, true perception shows us this Love everywhere we look. With the practice of letting all our seeing be guided by the Voice for truth in our minds throughout the day leads us to profound happiness and deep peace. This is how we extend the holy instant until it replaces all the old perceptions of separation.
